I've had a few cars try to park themselves unbidden,Rose.

And while I don't mind initial contacts on a friendly basis-desperation and assumptions are always a turn off for me.

And if a girl immediately begins expressing all of her problems and angst.......I sort of whistle through my teeth and begin humming ,"The baggage train just arrived, hoo hoo, haa haa!!!!!!let's send it down the line to the NEXT stop, thank you very much!!!!" song to myself.

But show me something that actually RELATES and shows she has read, and is reaching out to know more, about what I WROTE? My my,that's a rarity-do continue.

You really want my ears to perk up? Show me you have a capacity to CREATE something-beyond fertilizer.

Most of the time, male submissives initiate the contact with Me.  However, if I find that a particular profile speaks to Me, I very well may drop the sub a line.  That happens very rarely, though, as most of the profiles of the submissive males in My area are rather sketchy and there is nothing that really draws Me to them.

I may also drop people a line when I find something I would like to compliment them on.  For example, I may like a quote they have in their profile.  I even saw a profile of a male dom on another site executing a perfect headstand and just had to drop him a line to express My admiration, though he is certainly not My cup of tea, nor am I his.  He was happy someone noticed.

Grin...OK..so I of course had to go read your profile Wulf...so riddle me this..If say I contacted you, how would you or I for that matter know that I am exceptional or mediocre? As for what you admire, isn't it usually in the eyes of the beholder?.as in what I may think as intelligient, refined, articulate or even (lol)sensual, may not be your idea of these qualities. So there you sit and wait for this wonderful person to contact you, and there may be many who think wow,I like the way this Dominant sounds, but the submissive thinks .."well, I wont contact him because I am not as intelligient or articulate as he may desire"...so in the end you may lose out.IMO..if there is an interest either way when perusing the profiles, then I say get your fingers to tapping or you have no one to blame but yourself.Specific profiles will not a match make....be well...tempting

You made think real hard about how to answer this and I could only come up with one good answer…

The only stupid question is the one not asked.

That said here are my bad answers…

I agree that intelligence; refinement, articulation, and sensuality are well within the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless, I assume (bad Dom) if she made it that far without a dictionary she is doing well.  *goes back to dust his mailbox*

Now if I can turn everyone’s attention to “initial contact” and off the “idea” I don’t get mail. I would really like to hear everyone’s opinion.

Ach!...it was just not aimed at you Wulf..I just used you as an example!..if you read the part where I said if there is an interest either way then get your fingers to tapping, waiting for someone to contact you could cause either Dom or sub to lose out in the end...be well..Tempting

I don't think it matters either way. If you see someone that appears interesting, I think you should at least say hello and see where it goes from there. You don't even have to looking for a relationship, I enjoy just occasionally exchanging conversation with someone that catches either my eye or my brain. It's not different than if you were to see someone interesting in public, to my knowledge there's no protocol to follow there either, at least not any more, maybe a long long time ago there may have been. Like with the boys asking out the girls, the Sadie Hawkins concept threw out all the rules there too..lol.

Okay, my hypocrisy knows no bounds. I just saw a profile come up that was sooo yummy I had to send her a note. No, I didn’t say on your knee’s bitch.

Just from a practical standpoint, subs get so much mail you would almost have to write to them first. They certainly don't have to go looking through Dom profiles, though I suspect anyone really looking over a period of time will do it eventually and hopefully mark favorites. But that's more hope than reality, I suspect it is more of a numbers game than anything else on a site like Collarme -- get your message in first before some other smooth-talking Lothario does

Ok Loki,

Why would you think that the submissive or slave would make first contact?  It would be too forward and presumptive, don't you think?

Dear Wulfchyld, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I came up through the lifestyle before computers, so we found folks via the newspaper ads that were written with cryptic codes.  That said, in my early days and I suppose I am still clinging to old school mentality, that slaves approached Masters/Mistresses.

It was the "thought" of those times that Masters/Mistresses appeared to be hard pressed, if they had to chase around slaves.

I also admit that I do like having men approach, perhaps it is my romantic side speaking as well as being a lady, they invented high heels so we can't chase. [Chuckles]

Respectfully submitted,
Lady Hugs

a lot of times it can be "intimidating" for a subbie to make intial contact with a Dom....i would say that if there is a person that you would be interested in "talking" to, then send her a message, and not just "hope" that she will send you one....you could always opt to just add her as a fav. and see if she responds to that...i wish you the best in finding what you are looking for!!!!

Heck no feastie. As I said, I really appreciate initiative. Considering a few points:

à   She is making (possibly) a life choice.
à   The scum mail they receive.
à   She knows if what I am looking for is “her” better than I do.
à   If she isn’t going to submit to ON YOUR KNEES BITCH she is already forward and presumptuous enough to look for what she wants.
I have a few things some may not like:
à   I am not a sadist.
à   I live in Oklahoma.
à   I travel sporadically.
à   I like girls I can girl shop with.
à   I am very spontaneous.
And these are a few of my favorite things! (Song and dance number goes here)

I don't approach men at all.  I may email a brief note to politely let them know they are a dominant and not a dominate..lol, or other comment on their profile, but I never have, and never will, email a man to say, "Hey, how YOU doin?" lol.

I also take what is said in a profile literally.  I don't consider that a man may be willing to expand his...preferences to include or exclude mine.

I probably should change, but hey, I'm an old doggie.

I love being contacted but it usually ends up being some wanker asking for photos of my body, which I refuse to send just so some creep can jerk off to it, or wanting me to tell them what I would "do to them"..........soooo if I see an interesting profile I will send a pleasant little note telling them what about their profile appealed to me, nothing more than being friendly. I look at it like this, they will view my profile and all the babble in there and decide if they want to answer or not. In all honesty all I am expecting from collarme is making friends and learning......if something more happens wonderful, if not........shrugging...
