We like to change things here in America...you know claim it for ourselves. Just wondering...does the family ever get a little upset with you over your obsession for correctness?

I’ve a sister like you… I love her anyway but damn she is irritating…

Not at all. Mind you, they're intelligent people who like knowledge and aren't keen on ignorance, so it's not surprising really.

I'm quite disturbed at the thought of you loving me, and I have to politely turn you down as you're not my idea of a good time, but thanks for the vote of confidence, it's very sweet of you.

All in good fun Rapier.

I didn't imagine it in any other way.

I just enjoy learning things, and always assume others are the same, though of course this isn't necessarily correct.

And if you look, my thoughts on the man are already there for all to see. Above all else, it was his modesty that impressed me.

His Wikipedia entry is also worth reading, for a list of his actions. It makes sobering and impressive reading.

Today’s soldiers are no different than WWI I soldiers...Korean War soldiers...Vietnam War soldier… Desert Storm soldiers. They mostly join and serve with a combination of fear, patriotism, pride and loyalty to their fellow soldiers. They would love to meet you so you could tell them face to face how cowardly they were.

Butch

Done so on several occasions (although one was in the navy), three of them were predictably anti, one vehemently so, but two of the reactions really surprised me.

Jaycees I don't believe in equality between the sexes and fully believe if a man is going to judge what military men do then he better have had the balls to do what military men do. Otherwise to me the are simply cowards who judge with words without having clue of the reality and actuality that active combat military people face. The difference bt u and I are I don't speak negatively about the soldiers. You do.

Thanks for comfirming you've never been in military combat it helps put your comments into perspective.

Butch this is where you get told a really bullshit story about how he did, in a bar somewhere, and they all raised a glass to his bravery for speaking his mid or some such fantasy. Of course, he might just call you a cunt, that is what he usually does to me. Because you know, a story teller of grandiose fables and not even a single photo to validate anything about him really matters in the scheme of things. Oh the internet, you can be anyone you want to be especially if you are a socipath, yay!

It's ironic, he has another thread running about dying alone. I wonder if he told those soldiers he supposedly spoke to that he thinks once they die alone on a bloodied battlefield that they should all rot in hell( his own words) wonder how that would work out for him?

Just to save you the trouble Jaybeee.....

lovingly,
Aynne the cunt.

We, in collarme, represent a range of nationalities and cultures. When we read a story such as this, when one of those nationalities honours a genuine hero, we are reminded of all the heroes.
Some we know the names of, many we do not........but throughout human history, some individuals have put the needs of greater society above their own.
Their stories should inspire us to do more than we do now, to do our best to emulate them just a little bit.

Heroes. They matter.

Damn.  Welcome back, philosophy.

I have missed you.

FR:

For those of you who have taken offense to some of the posts ... might I recommend that attention and conflict is what some seek, and by engaging him, you are dancing to his tune, and giving him what he aches to achieve: notoriety.  Please do not feed the trolls.

I'd suggest that simply ignoring those comments will provide a much better comparison between persons of that type and the honor and modesty of the man we are celebrating in this thread

Its rather ironic that while we take note of brave military people who took part in a pivotal war, there is an elite band of businesspeople running away with the world's wealth, and nobody speaks up.  And this is our problem - we reminisce too much over history, hand-over-the-heart and all, while the loot is being carted out right under our noses.  Too much looking back, and not enough looking ahead.

And no, you don't have to enlist in the "Wall St army" to criticize what that small band of thieving businesspeople are doing.
