Unregulated 2nd Amendment in Action

Let me see if I get this straight....

The drug cartels buy guys from Arizona (and other similar states) that have very weak gun laws. They ship these massive arms (mostly long guns) across the border. The cartels then battle (and have been) the Mexician Goverment for supremacy of the zone. Normal citizens flee the area, and some of them simply head north to the USA. Since they cant get asylum nor green cards, they just 'hop' the border as illegal immigrants. They found jobs and settled here, always saying "once the fighting died down, I'll go back...".

Mean while, gun-nuts, completely ignorant of reality (they do bash non-conservatives), resist any sort of change meant to keep criminals from getting firearms in the first place. They reason (the gun nuts), that since criminals have access to firearms, THEY, should have equal access, if not greater access to military level arms. In so doing so, make it too easy for the seriously, mentally ill to aquire firearms (we dont know anyone like that, do we?).

After numerous crackdowns by local, county, state, and federal law enforcement, its routinely found, that the states with weak gun laws, are the biggest suppliers of arms to the drug war just south of our border. It is rather curious that when the Assault Weapon's Ban of 1994 was allowed to expire in 2004, did south-western states notice an uptick of illegal immigrants from Mexico. Unfazed by the 'liberal agenda', gun nuts kept blocking every tiny law meant to keep guns from criminals and citizens (as everyone should have Glock 19's with 30 round magizines). Since sooner or later (as it will happen, according to gun nuts), the goverment will become a tyrant and they'll need everyone (including the criminals) to have arms to resist.

Am I missing anything?

Joether, if the federal govt. was actually doing it's job this wouldn't be an issue, would it?
Yet, anytime a state tries to do something about it the feds again say that immigration is "their job" and continue not to do, ... "their job!"

As a resident of AZ and one which has purchased an MK90 and an UZI (sporterized  LOL) after I filled out the appropriate documentation, proved I was a resident of the state, and the gun store owner cleared me via telephone (which included the providing for what I assume is registration of the serial numbers of the weapons - my black poweder ones too) I was allowed to pay and leave.   Just saying, if I had hit any of the triggers for stopping the sale, I am sure the gunshop owner would have stopped it.

I am familiar with Lone Wolf in Gleandale.   Been there looking for a few things I couldn't get elsewhere.   I always thought (my opinion) it was a shady operation so I only went looking for weapons related items but not the weapons themselves.

WOW! You completely ignore 95% of what was stated in my post, and 100% of the link, just to make a comment on 'illegal immigrants'. Do you have no ability to see the 'cause & effect' in action here?

Yes, you are. But I have found it is a waste of time to try and explain anything to a bigot, so I won't bother explaining it to you.

If the federal government closed the borders we would not have a problem. An armed country is a free country. REMEMBER THAT! Looked what happened to Germany in the 30's when Hitler took guns away from the citizen's.

Could you give me an example of a country that has closed borders and an armed society where everyone is free please?

Here is part of the problem...

Presently, 17 states regulate private firearm sales at gun shows. Seven states require background checks on all gun sales at gun shows (California, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Oregon, New York, Illinois and Colorado). Four states (Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania) require background checks on all handgun, but not long gun, purchasers at gun shows. Five states require individuals to obtain a permit to purchase handguns that involves a background check (Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Nebraska). Certain counties in Florida require background checks on all private sales of handguns at gun shows. The remaining 33 states do not restrict private, intrastate sales of firearms at gun shows in any manner.[14][15]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_show

I have no problem with legal gun ownership. From hunters to sport shooters, they all should have the freedom to enjoy their chosen "sport". But access is limited in any gun shop by background checks. Why not at gun shows as well?

And that's why the Japs never tried to invade the U.S. during WW2, as one of their Admirals or Generals said, "there is a gun behind every tree in the U.S."

Thats why?
This has to be the single dumbest(amongst some 15,000 dumb assed posts)post you have ever put forth.
Please take a minute and look at the problems presented to the Allies by a cross channel invasion of occupied Europe......please look at the logistical nightmare of landing so many men ,and so much material .The amount of landing craft needed...the different types of landing craft needed.
And than come back here and tell us again how private gun ownership was the one bar the Japanese could not overcome.
What was it you did in the coast guard?

Yup I agree, and more than you think, and possibly more than you yourself agree.
