Why not have a section for professional services and leave the rest for those interested in lifestyle?  Seems to me if one is looking for a pro then they would go to one of many other sites that specialize in that.  So why have pros listed on here?

Monday comes around so fast ...

Who gets to decide who is pro and who is lifestyle?

That is a personal issue. I recommend that when you make such a decision, that you mark their nose or nick on the screen with a dot of black or colored paint, so that you may recognize them in future. (Or you could use the Hide User button instead.)

manonaleash -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 2:52:13 PM)

Rule, it is not a personal issue, those who provide a service for a fee are professional, period.  It is quite simple and surprises me that you consider it to be a difficult distinction to make.

dark steven, I did not ask for your feedback on my profile, stick to the question at hand.  My question was not "why is no one writing to me" my question was "why do we not separate pro from no pro"  Interesting that every reply on here seems to be against that idea, why?  What objections do you all have to separating ads based on intent?  It is after all a very clear and significant designation.

Maybe someone needs to have their profile flagged a few times to be taken seriously, after all, these misleading people are clearly plying their scam on lots of people.

This issue has been dealt with effectively on many other sites and in my opinion dealing with it hear will benefit everyone aside from scammers.

Ok, who disagrees with me now, and why?

Actually, Steven has been spot on with everything he has told you.

I disagree with you and I will tell you why.

So, here I am, a lifestyle Domme.  I'm not selling anything here and I can guarantee you that I have never made any money off of anyone on CM.

For the sake of the argument, let's say you decide to send Me an email because you are interested in Me.  I look at the profile that you have and from it I determine that I am absolutely not interested in you, so I block you and delete your message.  In turn, you decide that I must be a pro because I'm not willing to speak to you.  Maybe I'm not a pro, but you figure that flagging My profile is a good way to get back at Me.  Hey!  Even better, you can create a few other profiles so you can do the exact same thing.  That will really show her!

So, now I have been flagged as a pro, even though I really am a lifestyle Domme.  I just happen to have rejected somebody who decides they are going to retaliate because I wasn't interested in talking to them.

Any questions?

manonaleash -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 2:58:10 PM)

In your example you would have been flagged as a pro by one person.  As I have said it would take say five such flags from five different users for you to be tagged as a pro.  If you are flagged by five users as being a pro, them my bet is that, in your example, you are.

LadyPact -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 3:05:30 PM)

I think you are missing a key point.

What is to prevent one person from making five sock puppet accounts?  Do you even know how many people already have more than one?

It surprises me that you think this subject hasn't been raised here a thousand times before.

It's unworkable as an idea. End of.

Now stop whining and start enjoying the site.

manonaleash -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 3:29:50 PM)

I agree.  We also need to worry about that stone that falls from the sky when we are walking our twin chow dogs to hit the wrong key and without our knowledge on intent - mis-flagging someone.

You are quite right, all of you, there are just to many possible things that can happen when we question something.  Probably best to just accept life as it is and hope that we don't rock the boat before we croak.

You are all better then me and I am smart enough to see that and bow out bidding you all a fond farewell.

I was already right.  You didn't have to tell Me.

Missokyst -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 4:29:24 PM)

And what is to prevent YOU from flagging someone for turning you down? Or any other person who is not getting what they want from someone. Flagging is not viable proof of anything other than the fact that someone is taking issue with someone else. If, for instance someone flagged your profile and claimed you to be a pro.. and then someone else flagged you, ect ect.. no one knows for sure if you are being flagged legitimately, or because someone has a grudge against you.

How do you propose to get around that? And I would be very interested to find out about all the other places which do this flagging successfully. I can relate more on my attempt at craigslist which DOES block posts that have been flagged.. the ones that did get through.. guess what.. they were from pro site girls trying to lure me into buying into their site.

You know what I did? I deleted them.

People complain about time wasted and honestly I see more time wasted in the effort to complain about something in which there is no control, ANYWHERE.

Best idea is to decide that 1 of 20 times will be real.. the rest are scams. If that 1 is prime.. it is all worth it.

Someone gets flagged 5 times for being a pro in disguise and guess what, they are a pro in disguise and should be regulated to the pro section.

1. When I previously posted, it was from a phone and I was more concise than I should have been.  I should have added that I probably have as many scammers as you do, etc. but the fact that I speak with plenty of genuine people as well, makes the timewasters just a minor annoyance. If I had nothing but the timewasters, I would be more ticked, and I suspect that's where you're coming from.

2. There used to be a way to report profiles.  A while back, the site changed some options, and profile reporting was eliminated, although you can still report emails.  In the event that collarme reinstitutes profile reporting, it would be fairly easy to implement your suggestion.  Just add one more category that's reportable.

That said, I still don't think it would work well because it's so easy to set up another profile when the first one gets reassigned to the "pro" area.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 5:27:28 PM)

Were you the real object of the "dudes" thread on why submissive men are such a pussy.

You really are helping prove his point with your bitchy ass whining.

There still is, Steven. The button is on the mini profile page, not the view full profile [;)]

That said, it still wouldn't work for the reasons you stated and those already posted. The pros flying under the radar would make a new profile, and lifestylers unfairly targeted would have to either petition Support or create a whole new profile.

5?? Hell, I would probably be relegated to ProLand within a few days. I don't think you really understand, manonaleash, just how vindictive some of the people on this site can be when rejected.

No actually, it is not easy.  When pros "veil themselves" as being non pro.  Try investing time, energy and emotion into someone who finally says that they need you to join a website so you can see their private photo gallery.  Or many then just want you to pay a tribute (fee) only once to prove you are sincere.  It serves everyone's best interest for all of us to be honest and up front.  After all we are all adults as you say.

I have to say that its really not all that hard to figure out if one is a pro or a lifestyle. If its take you more than 2 emails (and that is pushing it) you may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Why have pro and lifestyle mixed together? (1/31/2011 8:20:56 PM)

And who gets to "flag" these people 5 times?  The ones who get pissed off that a lifestyle Domme has turned them down?  Or not answered their e-mail.  Dude, get real.  Grow up, act your age, if you think you have that much invested, then you need to get out in the real world.  Quitcher whining, and get on with life.  Yours.

If you don't like it the door is that way------------>, don't let it his you in the ass on the way out and don't forget to ask for your refund.  O wait, your chq is already in the mail.  You've been given the why and good advice on your profile, no one "attacked" you.  Believe me, you'd know if you were.  This has been quite tame so far.  Don't expect it to get any easier the more you whine.

I'll certainly accept that you know more about the specifics than I do, TwentyOne.  If you and the other folks can tolerate another comment on the subject, I'll say one thing more.

In My opinion, one of the worst things the site could set itself up for is a situation that encourages the lifestyle Dommes that participate on the site to go elsewhere.  That's part of the OP's complaint, right?  That there are too many pros here and not enough folks who are just lifestyle?  I have every reason to believe that I'm not the only lifestyle Domme who is going to sit back and allow people who don't even know Me to slap some kind of scarlet letter on My name.  I'd be out of here so fast it wouldn't even be funny and I'm willing to bet I wouldn't be the only woman who was a part of the exodus.

What's left for you then, OP?

I think he went to Alaska to train. An 80's work-out montage will begin shortly updating us.
