Birthers are idiots.

Including the original birthers...liberals who challenged McCain's eligibiltiy in 2000 and again in 2008 several months before the anyone challenged Obama's? Note also that the first person to legally challenge Obama's eligibility was a long-time Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter.

Because no other President ever had such a dark complexion would be my guess.
(God only knows what they'd whining about if Hilary had got the nomination...)

Actually, the only reason Obama is going through this is because he is a Democrat.  The people on the right side of the aisle are simply using any means available to try to discredit him, and this is one of the things they have latched onto to try to achieve their goal.  If Obama was a Republican president you would not be hearing anything at all from these people.  It wasn't too long ago that a lot of right-wingers were actually wanting to change the laws so that Arnold could run for president weren't they?  It seems that the sanctity of being a "natural born citizen" is only important to them when it suits their needs.

Bullshit. Demoncraps challenged McCain's eligibilty in 2000, and again in 2008 several months before the first person challenged Obama's eligibility...and that person was a long-time Democrat! Your ignorance at best, hypocrisy at worst is showing!

So you don't have a source, and can't even name a name, then.
Thought so.

Then show me Reagan's birth certificate.

You mean this one, on display at the RPL?

so, whats your point?

tazzygirl -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 8:35:19 AM)

No raised seal?

No more information than on Obama's?

Whats YOUR point?

Sort of a bare minimum starting point to qualify for POTUS imo.

Full disclosure? Do you want your birth certificate available to everyone? If he makes his available to each state, that should be sufficient.

Tax returns are disclosed, whats your problem with BCs.

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 8:39:32 AM)

I don't find that section of the Constitution that gives them the explicit authority to do that.

Tax forms are now available on line? So I can look yours up right now?

I have come to the conclusion, after several months, that if Obama's birth certificate should somehow grow legs, don a strapon and fuck truckinslave in the ass, he would still deny its existence.

You can be a citizen in 2 ways. You are born that way or you are not. (souonds pretty basic but there are folks that don't believe it)

If you are not born a citizen, you must be naturalized. i.e. take an oath.

If you are 1: Born on US soil, you are a citizen. (thus the problem with 'anchor babies')>

or 2: One or both of your parents is a citizen, you are a citizen. this is why John McCain is an American citizen even though he was born on Panamanian soil. OK, the hospital was
on Panamanian soil. To birth a baby in the dirt is downright dangerous.

I'm curious to know if a clone would be eligible as that is not "natural born"? (It's illegal and also unethical IMO but it's just a matter of time)

Also, to nitpick, would a person born via C section, as that is not 'natural birth', be eligible?

I long ago came to the conclusion that even though no one with Obama's campaign/administration, the Daily Kos, FightTheSmears or FackCheck has ever publically said whence they obtained Obama's "Certification of Live Birth", no official of the State of Hawaii has ever pubically verified the authenticity of Obama's "Certification of Live Birth", the Department of Hawaii Home Lands does not accept a Hawaii "Certification of Live Birth" as prima-facie evidence of birth in Hawaii and the Governor of Hawaii recently admitted he wasn't able to find Obama's birth certificate Obots would still say it exists and is authentic.

You can indeed be a citizen in a couple ways...and any citizen can be a Congressperson or a Senator
But you can only be a natural born Citizen in one way...and only a natural born Citizen can be President.

Identity fraud, I'd imagine.

There are alot of laws pertaining to citizenship that are not written in the constitution.

I love it when you say things like this!!!!

Makes morons of both of you!!!!!

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 8:45:16 AM)

Congress is given explicit powers, everything else goes to the states.
Where are they given the right/responsibility to determine eligibility for POTUS (as opposed, to say the House)?

The resolutions were grandstanding only, mere background noise.

Which is another problem I have with Dr Rice: regardless of what a House committee found, the issue would still have to go to SCOTUS (which I think should deny them standing).

The entire .net website you linked is based on a faulty premise:

"Who is a natural-born citizen? Who, in other words, is a citizen at birth,"

There is no legal evidence to support the notion that "natural-born citizen" and "citizen at birth" share the same legal definition.

Under this notion, and current legal interpretation, a baby born of Chinese parents 15' north of the Rio Grande and subsequently taken back across the river to Mexico, thence to be raised in Hong Kong, would be eligible for POTUS even though he had spent exactly 2 minutes 37 seconds in the United States...

The Founding Fathers had something different than the above in mind; quite frankly only a fool could imagine otherwise.

Actually, since the U.S. Constitution allows a "citizen" to be a Congressman or a Senator but only a "natural born Citizen" to be President that is sufficient legal basis to support the difference between the two.

Lucylastic -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 8:51:50 AM)

I can become a citizen of the US, doesnt mean I can say I was born here, there s this test ya see and a procedure to go thru... I can even get a US passport... but Im still English.
who is the moron?
where is his real birth certificate, why cant you find it, why cant you find prooof  that he was born else where.

Your lot are pretty bloody pathetic at finding a scrap of alternate "evidence"

DomKen -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 8:54:55 AM)

So now the birthers, hidden racists, argument is there are really 3 classes of citizens. Natural born citizens, which are born in the US to US citizen parents (disqualifying every president since the last of the founders), born citizens and naturalized citizens.

Under this theory literally no POTUS candidate since the last one to run under the founding of the nation exception was actually qualified.

Thats a pathetic argument.

Perhaps I should go to Canada for some of your "free" health care. When they ask me for proof of citizenship I can just tell them: "You can't prove I'm not Canadian. Treat me".

Lucylastic -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:00:47 AM)

dumbass you just proved you know nothing

tazzygirl -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:01:07 AM)

You have to admit, truckin, the one kenyan birth certificate that was passed off as valid was found to be a forgery.

Really?? Let's see.

GWB. Born in the US? Yes. Both parents US citizens? Yes
BC. Born in the US? Yes. Both parents US citizens? Yes
GHWB Born in the US? Yes. Both parents US citizens? Yes
RR Born in the US? Yes. Both parents US citizens? Yes
JC Born in the US? Yes. Both parents US citizens? Yes

Let's just say that I fail to see the validity of your argument.......
