Not even a very good one.

We need a definition of "natural born citizen". We do not have one.

So in the absence of that, the guy with the funny skin tone doesn't qualify?

Shut the fuck up, Truck. Seriously. Obama is the legitimate and properly elected President of the United States, and running with this ridiculous line of attack increases the likelihood of him staying that way for two terms.

You're as bad as those useless punks who kept insisting Gore won the 2000 election.

No, in the absence of verification of qualifying in accordance with the U.S. Constitution by the Democratic Party of Hawaii prior to the 2008 election and in the subsequent absence of verification of authenticity of his "Certification of Live Birth" by any official of Hawaii and in the recent inability of the Governor of Hawaii to find any of his vital records the guy who proclaimed "Five days from now we begin fundamentally transforming the United States." does not qualify.

You shut the fuck up. Seriously. Obama's own claim, that his father was a British subject/Kenyan citizen when he (Obama) was born, precludes him from being a "natural born Citizen". PERIOD.

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:05:58 AM)

I call projection

The burden of proof, LL, is upon the applicant.
Just like getting a drivers license.

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:07:53 AM)

Well, it does under the only definition of nbc known to exist at the time the Constitution was written.
Who knows how the Courts eventually will define it?

Something I should have included in the OP from the post in The Steady Drip

In Minor v. Happersett, in 1875, the Supreme Court, made an incidental reference to the issue: "[N]ew citizens may be born or they may be created by naturalization. The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first." 88 U.S. 162, 167-68 (1875).

Yet another reason we need a precise definition from SCOTUS. The careful reader of the above will note that the Court seems inadvertently to have used "citizen" and "natural born citizen" interchangeably, something not only nonsensical but clearly prohibited by Marbury v, Madison.

We need a definition.

No, what we need is to focus on real issues that are affecting the country and stop listening to this horseshit.

And the reason we have so many issues affecting the country in a negative manner is because we have a POTUS who has had an anti-Caucasion anti-Capitalism chip on his shoulder ever since his childhood.

Lucylastic -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:09:21 AM)

NO ...it doesnt, because you cannot just walk into a doctors office or hospital  here in ontario without showing a card, you dont get the card without having gone thru immigration.
to become a citizen, you have to go thru a process and have paperwork up the wazoo, there is no way you can get away with it, without breaking several laws
puhleeze

Obamas handlers are the idiots for allowing it to become an issue.

Birthers are idiots.

Exactly. Obama and/or his handlers could have made it a non-issue long ago by doing the same thing McCain and/or his handlers did, first in 2000 and again 2008...release his vital records to the public as soon as his eligibility was questioned.

Racer, if I were to marry a German woman and move to Argentina, My children of that union are legally american citizens by birth due to the fact that I am an American citizen. Your argument that "because Obama's father was British he can't be American" is specious.

Nope. Show us Obama's first...the one that Obama's buddy Governor Ambercrombie wasn't able to find. :-)

Sorry Racer, I already posted a link to it, since it has no relevance to the discussion anyway, just another of Dizzygirl's diversionary tactics.

You are pulling "truth" out of your arse.
Im not touching that with sanitys, let alone my own

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:24:06 AM)

And at every point in your scenario, burden of proof is on the applicant.
Just like it will be on 0bama0.
Thanks for making my point and refuting your own.

Jimbo, you do know you just proved his point?

And you do realize you just admitted that Obama and the Congressional Black Caucaus were racist before Obama's detractors were?

truckinslave -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:27:22 AM)

There is no proof even possible, on either side.
SCOTUS, nor any federal court, has ever defined "natural born citizen"
The only definition known to exist in 1791 was penned by M de Vattel in The Law of Nations, a work with which the Founing Fouders were known to be familiar. I have posted it many times.

Lucylastic -> RE: Birther News (3/8/2011 9:27:45 AM)

LMAO no my point was you cannot prove otherwise, which means you cannot find it, the onus isnt on him at all.
If it was he would never have made it past senator, he has shown his bc
its been pronounced real
so you have to prove otherwise
anyone can find my paper work
the fact you cant find anything means you cant prove your assertions.

If only the white man could someday be free of black oppression.

LL, I cannot understand the question for you, and I have done my best to explain it.
Sorry that my best wasn't good enough.
