If cooking for the people I live with counts. Then, yes.

TPBM has meetings at work tomorrow.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 9:42:10 PM)

cancelled, so no. But, tentatively, rescheduled. Doubtful though.

TPBM can REALLY taste the difference between a SOLID, delicious, almost "artisanal" maple syrup on pancakes (and if you're evil, on your bacon) and the stuff that is simply the cheapest-to-buy-in-bulk.

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 10:42:57 PM)

I can tell the difference between some of the different offerings especially when warmed.

=================
The Person Beneath Me ... is about to get the car(s) ready for winter.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 10:45:11 PM)

no, it's summer here! LOL

TPBM has tire chains

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 11:14:14 PM)

not for many years. ... When it gets that crazy, I park it.

=============

The Person Beneath Me what political situation movie do you like the best ?

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 11:18:27 PM)

great question.

13 Days, when Putin is acting up,

Wag the Dog when the only thing we have to worry about is 'a batch of soft-issues'.

TPBM has 'switched sides' politically, at sometime since they were old enough to WANT to vote (this is different to being old enough to legally vote)

LadyPact -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 11:51:44 PM)

I would say that's correct.

TPBM is more likely to be an issues voter than stay within strict party lines.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/23/2013 11:59:40 PM)

NAILED.

if someone who heads the Party 'fubs' the issues, forget sticking with the party 'just because'. It's not a sports-team.

TPBM would never STICK with a political-party just because 3 or so friends would get whingely if TPBM left the party.

LadyPact -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 12:09:10 AM)

Ha! Have you met Me? I know you've noticed how opinionated I am. Would never happen in My world.

TPBM doesn't put political affiliation that high on the list when it comes to forming friendships with others.

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 1:06:23 AM)

Now I KNOW you guys have been researching me (LOL).

I have switched parties more than once on principle issues. I frequently support the losers in the primary. Each election, the political machine in each party chooses the candidates making the primary elections a joke. George Bush and president Obama are perfect examples. Without the machines, neither of them could get elected dog catcher.
I did switch once at the request of the labor union I was a member of (at the time) ... they were wanting more representation at the state convention. It didn't stick after the convention. The state platform had a number of important issues not addressed. The candidates for the top positions refused to be married to the platform ... iin some cases for good reason.
Particular issues do trip my trigger. Email SPAM was legalized by the US Congress and my Congressman was a supporter of the wrong side of the issue because the chairman of the committee was on the wrong side of the issue.
=====================
The Person Beneath Me votes in every election even when you have to hold you nose to do so.

LadyPact -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 1:23:15 AM)

False. I have this odd thing about voting. Particularly when it comes to local elections. I often don't have to live out the choices I'd make, so I'm not as committed as those who permanently live in the location. If I'm not going to ride it out with the rest of the population, I'd prefer to stand aside. I also don't vote in what is considered My "state of home record" for local issues, because I'm not currently there.

TPBM has done an absentee ballot.

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 6:06:36 PM)

True ... I knew I would have to be out of town on election day.

=============
For the past few elections, both political parties are promoting Early Voting in advance of election date by obtaining a ballot and mailing it in.
This approach assured the parties their hard liners would vote and not forget on election day. The result is many voters vote prior to candidates making news during the election cycle which might otherwise affect who gets their vote.

The Person Beneath Me .... how does the availability of early voting affect when you vote or if you vote?

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 6:12:41 PM)

While I have always voted in presidential elections, early voting makes me more likely to vote in other elections.

TPBM has a current passport.

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 7:32:16 PM)

Not since JFK was President.

The Person Beneath Me has renewed their driver's license this year.

LadyPact -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 8:20:18 PM)

False. I'm due next year.

TPBM is not terribly fond of th DMV.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 9:06:07 PM)

I have to say it depends on the year, LOL. DMV's are like restaurants: when management/staff change, the experience changes. Lat time I was there they were lovely to me, but the time before that.... [:-]

TPBM has merely taken the shot of winking at a person across a room, and had something past '3rd base' come of it.

DOM68005 -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/24/2013 10:09:17 PM)

not me.

The Person Beneath Me ... has gone to a play party weekend solo.

LadyPact -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/25/2013 1:12:19 AM)

True.

TPBM has enough extrovert in them to be good at mingling.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/25/2013 5:15:25 PM)

If I force myself and I like the people. Put me in a room of fratwanks and bimbos and no. Put me in a room full of pseudo-academic Politically Correct asswanks and no. Throw me into a room full of Hollywood people (with a REAL resume) or a room full of dedicated teachers/academics or stand-up comedians, yes.

put me in a room full of neo hippies and it's time to swallow a cyanide tablet rather than even make eye-contact.

singlemaltlady -> RE: The Person Beneath Me (10/25/2013 7:05:30 PM)

There's no choice in the last reply (not yours, LadyPact) so I'm commenting on your post. Local elections have everything to do with the Presidential elections. Local elections offer the voter direct power (as opposed to the electoral college votes used in Presidential elections.) The effect of local elections on the Presidential elections is something citizens should educate themselves about.

Back to the game... no, I have not used an absentee ballot (since the Bush coupe, when they did NOT count the absentee ballots of our active armed forces).

TPBM has been stung by a sting ray.
