I tend to find there's a rather rigid kind of orthodoxy in these forums which is probably a product of the fact that women tend to be more articulate than men, so Doms are a somewhat less common sight on these boards than the converse.  Consequently, it's easy to become a magnet for conflict simply by observing behaviour here and commenting on it.   The results tell me that a lot of allegedly dominant people don't handle challenge at all well.

Regardless,  I've shelved a couple of replies simply because life is too short and the conversation was unlikely to go anywhere useful.  And while conflict can be entertaining for a while, single-handedly taking on half a dozen mutually reinforcing opponents who can't argue their way out of a paper bag becomes wearying and boring very quickly.

There are times that I will post just to piss off certain well known asshats over in P&R....just because it is so damn much fun!

It depends on the topic really. I spent several years in P&R, so i don't really get off on arguing with people. That being said, I usually can't resist the chance to make a snide remark or to take somebody down a peg or two. Hopefully I give the reader a chuckle or two when I do it....that's the intent at any rate.

And RS...post them, my vote is in the original. I aspire to one day having your subtle combination of caustic wit and wisdom.

No problem!  I'll start with an easy one about the morals of buying slaves/wives in this modern world.  Then I'll point out that the age of consent in many of those countries is age 12 (including Mexico).  Couple that with how you can legally start your own religion if you have 5 people or more to start the church and voila, you have a passel of teenaged brides under legal contract for less than the cost of an Italian sports car.

When the high moral debates start about selling yourself and your pussy, I will use an esteemed president's widow as a moral guideline.  I will note that by contract, Jackie Kennedy sold her pussy legally by marriage contract and had to fuck (perform conjugal duties) Aristotle Onassis 11 times a year or her and the kids were cut off.

. . . and I'll mention it was your idea to post the debate and direct all mail your way.

Luv ya bro!

The first assumption is that women are more common on the boards than men, have you counted? Does it vary by section?

The second assumption is that all of the women who post here are submissive... this is untrue, there are many dominant women posting on these boards.

The primary assumption that women are more articulate than men has been proven false, women do not talk more than men do.

I'm one of your "sometimes" votes.  (Shocker, huh, since it seems like I never shut up.)

I don't mind thread drift so much.  I expect some of that during the course of any thread.  I'm also a firm believer in the fact that it's not My thread.  People are going to take any original idea and take it where they will as they are discussing what comes up during the course.

There are some topics that I don't start originals on due to the problems that arise due to certain subjects.  I won't start a thread just prior to going away for the weekend, for example.  There's no way for folks to get clarification that way.

As to responses, there are definitely threads that I prefer to stay out of.  The Jane Fonda/feminism thread is a good example.  While that one in particular wasn't bad, I've watched threads on feminism become nothing but pages of mess and it literally isn't worth it to Me.  I try to be polite and explain My position to anyone who replies to one of My comments on any thread, but when I know it's going to be a cesspool, I'd rather not read it.

Double Amen!

I also tend to steer clear of the P&R sections.

I only avoid one section, the Gorean one.

I suspect I am going to wish I avoided the Gorean section later today.....and I may just start doing that, but sometimes I read things there that make it impossible for me not to reply. I wish it could be taken off the scroll-lol.

Oh trust me, I enjoy some of the discussions there, like the two currently ongoing. I could add much, but the effort to type just isnt worth it. I see a few misconceptions, and I have a few questions I would love to ask based upon what others posted. And Im still deciding if I want to make those a topic under other forums.

Other than the fact that most of them would be pulled pretty quickly, I bet they'd be lively and entertaining threads while they lasted

I enjoy many of the discussions there also, but, I suspect they aint fond of us foreigners coming around and offering our own opinon about something they feel is "only related to Gorean".

Nothing is ever only related to one thing, and the "you aint Gorean so you aint got a clue" thing is something that aggravates the hell out of me.

Of course, it could be I aint Gorean and aint got a clue, but that is not the point yanno...

I have made sincere posts in the Gorean forum just to be ignored.

If that is the way they treat me there, I tend to have the same reaction when they leave Gor and come back to earth

Yeah, I do know. If you notice there are some who welcome the chance to have a discussion based upon the Gorean philosophy and what it entails. Then there are others who have the "my way or the highway" mentality who believe they know what is gorean and if it doesnt fit their definition, then it isnt. Thats the crew I gave up on. Its just not worth it to me to explain how it works for MY relationship when some of the ones Im referring too arent even in a relationship.

So, RS... I often tend to stay away from the more volatile threads and try to avoid the inevitable .

But then every so often one will come up and I find I just can't help myself because I get caught up in the "rightness" of my position.

Sometimes I know it is an exercize in futility and sometimes I hope that with a little more patience, logic or whatever, my point might be understood.

And other times it is just one of those things...

Yes, I would read those and if I had a POV that nobody else had brought up, I would likely post.  If the time limit I set for myself at CM hadn't run out for the day.

I also have three relatives who either are working for, or have worked at the INS.  Mom told me that guys with multiple wives were refused visas or something like that.  I wonder if underage brides are also turned away, but would have to ask her.

What good is being able to have a 12 year old bride in Mexico if you want to live in the USA and not in Mexico?  Is the five people or more to start a church thing within the USA or in Mexico?  If you cannot bring a 12 year old bride into the country, and Mexico wouldn't allow five people to start their own church...

I would likely post in that marriage contract one too.

Hi Angelika -
I find that I have the head against the wall experience when people are lying to themselves. I have learned to just... let it go.(most of the time )

RS -
As for the things you want to post - you can't post the ones for people under 18. Waste of time because they will be pulled. But the other half of it - buying a bride, Jackie Onassis, etc. That would be interesting. The men here in Korea (more men than women due to ... a variety of reasons that I don't have time right now to type in) often go to South East Asia on wedding expeditions. Groups of men going to the Phillipines (sp) or some other place and choosing a woman from a group and then bringing her back here. Before coming here, I'd never seen such obvious ... I don't even know what to call it! It's a fascinating topic, though.

best,
sunshine
