Whatever floats your boat.  It doesn't *feel* like sex to you then I guess a sexually transmitted disease or infection doesn't apply.

Well, you know it's pretty hard to get infected by doing somebody else with a strapon...

LadyPact -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/27/2011 8:48:29 AM)

As the giver, true.  As the receiver?????

Or am I reading the OP wrong?

People have this stupidity in their heads that because somebody labels themselves as a "professional" that they will be safe.  That person has no clue if the toy was cleaned properly or not.  It might be a first use for the toy or it might be something that was used on a hundred johns before.  Hey, it looks clean, right and the pro doesn't consider it sex so it *must*be ok.

A receiver who wouldn't balk at a strapon that he doesn't own being used without a condom must have left all braincells behind, that's criminal insanity, like believing you can't catch something from oral sex, one of my regular play partners bought his own strapon as he was a bit uncomfy with the sizes of mine (one was too small and the other slightly too big), that thing is his and only used on him, but even then I put a condom over for hygiene reasons, it still gets disinfected but it's a lot easier to clean, you need lube and all that, really not fun getting that off a strapon or any other toy. It's not like condoms are a major expense or the strapon complains about less sensitivity (as some guys do). Seriously, I don't think anybody would use insertibles without condoms, I have done in the past but I regarded them as one way items and they were thrown out after use.

Trading cash for sex? If you've got a better term than prostitution, I'm all ears.

Nope. The term "prostitution" suites me just find...there just seemed to be a lot of negativity directed towards the term, as if it were an ugly word, hence my comment. In some cultures, standards for prostitution are quite high and those who prostitute themselves for a living are very respected. I'd never do it...it's not for me...but as LadyC said, the negtivety directed toward the term seemed a tad harsh...

Again, gonna have to agree with LadyC. I doubt I'll ever experience strap-on play (my partner has a live one!), but I certainly don't consider the insertion of a dildo "sex." Not that you can't get std's from non-sexual acts...cause you can...

MistressRouge -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/27/2011 4:59:38 PM)

An Autoclave, Rapidex, Perasafe and Vikron.

Actually prostitution has a much wider definition than that which includes gifts, or personal achievement....
but that could be a whole different thread and one that could set my ass on fire lol

that really depends on if they bleed or not.

The er, recipient, doesn't necessarily need to bleed to infect the person wielding the strap-on, HLH. See, for instance, Shigellosis.

Sometimes sex (or the acts sometimes not known as sex) scares me

HannahLynHeather -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/27/2011 9:25:02 PM)

i suppose, but it sure fucking helps, now don't it? [;)]

Errr, I wouldn't recommend to lick a strapon that has been used on somebody, but that's just me...

A bit more seriously, yes, it can be on your hands and you may touch your mouth, but gloves and disinfecting hands is pretty common when indulging in any of those activities and actually one of the first things you learn.

HannahLynHeather -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/28/2011 6:36:27 AM)

gloves, condoms on dildos, disinfectants? holy fuck? do you dress like this to fuck?

LadyConstanze -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/28/2011 6:41:05 AM)

Not quite, but if I use a strapon on somebody, I will wear rubber gloves to remove the condom from the strapon, I guess I'm a bit uptight this way, but I really don't want ass juice on my hands...

HannahLynHeather -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/28/2011 7:01:49 AM)

ass juice is yummy. don't you ever just rip off your fucking clothes and get down and dirty and fuck like a couple of drunken monkeys without even thinking about who's what is touching where? i mean just fuck your god damned brains out without worrying about wrapping or wiping, or anything but getting your fucking ya yas out?

GreedyTop -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/28/2011 8:26:31 AM)

MISTRESSTHICK -> RE: can pro domination session cause STDs? (7/29/2011 1:31:51 PM)

yes if sex toys were used !! Using a toy on someone can lessen the chance of transmitting STIs and pregnancy is now a nil! But, it’s still possible to transmit diseases through sex toys.

The only material that can be sterilized is medical-grade silicone. It’s non-porous and can be boiled for 2 to 4 minutes. It has to be boiled between sharing for it to be safe – simple washing won’t make it totally safe – there’s always a chance something could stick around. Any other material like latex, plastic, glass and metal can harbor bacteria or diseases. So, to use any other material and be practicing safer sex you have to use condoms on the toys. All toys , except silicone should be wiped down with alcohol cotton ball and then washed with antibacterial soap and left to air dry. Avoid using bleach and other cleansers, cause the toys mentioned above are all porous materials and can absorb chemicals from cleansers and bleach. No chemicals are conducive for introduction to genitalia!
