If you were local to me, I'd give you a yoga class tailored to you. I'll keep my eye out for an exercise DVD that focuses on floor work rather than tendon-popping standing postures.

That is so sweet and greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Here's an on point discussion on Amazon - maybe you'll like one of the exercise videos mentioned: http://www.amazon.com/forum/fitness?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx38JUOX5MZ1H19&cdThread=Tx19ZANBZBOWVR5

Look for ones that feature floor work rather than cardio/lunges.

If you have a VHS you'll have more options. Boy does this bring back memories and is long enough so you can skip the aerobics and still feel the burn: http://www.amazon.com/Jane-Fondas-Workout-Challenge-VHS/dp/B000006FDR

Just wanted you to know that I used the salt version of your home treatment for dry skin... and baby oil instead of olive oil. The man thought with my diabetes why borrow touble with the sugar.. and baby oil, I have lots of.

Anyways.... the effect was amazing! The man loved the feel... and so do I!

Thank you for the tip!

OK, guy here with a guy question.
I'm recovering from injury.
What's a good exercise for regaining mobility and strength in a crushed knee?
It's quite a distance to the nearest public pool, which would have been my choice.
What can I do at home?

For that, I'd instinctively recommend you go to a professional for a personal consultation, MA. Knees take an awful lot of stress - I would be ultra-cautious about doing just the right kind of exercise.

Glad it worked out with you.

The main reason I use sugar instead of salt is because salt stings if it gets into an open wound (like a razor nick) and sugar doesn't. I'm not into causing MYSELF pain

Axey, I would consult a professional who has seen what your films look like, since every knee injury needs specific work.

I have gotten some store brand apricot scrub, because I was wandering the store waiting for the line to go down. I swear, those drugstores do it on purpose!

I saw some yesterday too.... and Im thrilled I didnt get any. That tip of searching's worked beautifully! Except I gotta figure out how to keep from slipping and sliding in the shower now... and had to warn the man against it last night.

Speaking of the tub...

I will be having surgery sometime before the New Years... hopefully before christmas.

My leg in a cast.... oh joy.

They suggested I get a cast cover.

And recommendations?

I have found many, but I dont have a fortune, and I dont know what lasts.

Wash your hair in the shower after you exfoliate. The shampoo in your hair will help to send the oil down the drain instead of on your tub.

Great Idea! Didnt even think about it. Takes so long for my hair to dry that I dont wash it every night.

My knee isn't hairy enough to warrant shampoo

tough one, depends on the type of injury , ligament or meniscus, either way, definitely unloaded exercise, like Pilates, basically work on range of motion, go slow, avoid weights, or putting a lot of load on it, you basically want to keep blood circulating in the joint, avoid attachments, and not make it worse.

If you can walk, then walking is good, better on uneven ground or sand, which will give you better results in terms of building lateral stability - a balance board is not bad, I use one while watching TV sometimes, try using one while brushing your teeth!

I also use a lateral thigh trainer, designed for skiers and skaters, and which seems to have had some benefits in terms of knee strength for me, i.e., any of those budget stair climber thingies you can find at a thrift store that mimic walking/climbing or running while greatly diminishing the impact associated with those activities.

Thank you folks.
I'm diabetic and it's made for a slow heal.
It still feels imperfect and weak.
I was freed from PT when it was assumed I would mend normally.
I think I need to push on somehow and make it stronger.
Might be best to take this back to the medicos.

I would get some new scans taken and squawk at the PT folks, Axey. It can take ages to get a knee solid.

Greetings,

I fancy a nice round derriere myself and long thick hair and a bunch of other physical traits some of which would be mutually exclusive on just one female including height, build and breast size.  Don't care for make up much.  Still the thing I find most alluring about a woman, the thing that can draw me like a magnet, the aspect of her which can make her beautiful or not is her personality.  Please ladies do not discount what I am saying.  I know we are physical creatures prone to physical assessments in our choice of who we seek out initially and that is a hurdle some very fine people find they are often unable to get past ... but ultimately there has to be that connection of the intimate soul to maintain the bond.  I thank the Divine Impetus that I learned early on what is truly to be treasured in a friend and lover.

Ladies do not fool yourself, if you have found genuine love it will have little to do with the curvature of your ass or your cup size.  Know that men are as unconditionally attracted to you as moths to light.

You should also be aware that men worry about their looks as well.  Perhaps, as a gender, we are not yet as neurotic about it as females but we are working on it.

I enjoyed reading this post and its comments, I saw a lot of beautiful ladies here and have no idea what you look like.

tazzy, I spent 6 months in a cast from my upper thigh to my toes. I used a heavy yard trash bag to cover it when bathing.
