ORIGINAL: InvisibleBlack I've explained to a bunch of kids a number of times over the years that at the point where the police have their firearms out and are shouting at you - don't make any sudden movements, don't run, don't joke around, freeze and do exactly what they say. It doesn't matter if you've done nothing wrong. At the point an officer has drawn his sidearm, they're already expecting they may have to use lethal force. Defuse the situation, don't pour gasoline on the fire. IB, that's the best damn advice I've heard in a long time, am in alignment with you on this, and am always stunned how many don't naturally, instinctively get this. It galls me to see the shenanigans, aggressiveness, and outright stupidity some display towards Peace Officers. When under the gun, it is NO time to rebel, and prove you've yet to work out your "authority issues." What poor self-preservation instincts many have. Whether rightly or wrongly accused, questioned, detained, or arrested, use you smarts and play it polite and cool, and live to fight another day. Moral of the day...Don't poke the tiger when he means business. Chances are, you will lose!
