Way back in 2004, ModeratorOne posted guidelines for this forum.  It seems as if some of our members have forgotten what the Intros section is for.  The highlights of ModOne's post:

[T]his is a forum for the welcoming and introduction of Collarme.com forum subscribers.

There is an Off Topic Discussion category elsewhere on this board if you wish to bring up subjects other than those intended here.

No one is required to read this section or respond to posters here.  If users cannot be welcoming, they can visit the other sections of the board without posting here.

On a serious note, 21.

We love this site. We also love WIITWD. I, for one, hate the idiots, trolls and scammers that come and try to take advantage of the newbies and possibly turn them away forever. I will occasionally offer assistance to someone who is catching crap because of their pre concieved, porn induced notions. Ive never had a taker.

Those who my radar says are sincere, OPEN ARMS.

All I'm asking is .....................trust us

This policy is not up for discussion or debate here.  My job is not to create policy but to uphold it.

Yeah but....21, let's just deal with the facts.....seen your pics (one of)....and you're hot...so let's just let all this protocol go by the wayside.....it's really starting to interfere with things. (Particularly my smoking and drinking time).

Truly, I'm looking for a woman who can take care of me in the style I've become accustomed to.

I'm finally ready....my guard is down.

Um, okay...I already made a resolution to be nice to newbies and restrain myself when it comes to troll bashing but sometimes I might slip a little. Am trying.

It would be nice to have more people participating in the forums, even if they start off on the wrong foot.

Wouldnt offering solid advice like doing X is against ToS... and or advising their approach is a little off base be welcoming and trying to help them fit in better here on the boards?

Except for the simple fact that Mods would have to spend their entire adult lives explaining every possible variation on a theme (as to TOS), and having no personal life left in the end....yeah....I'd say that's a workable plan.

I mean some things are rather cut and dried...

Like posting your contact info.. or blacklisting another user... seems like it would save the mods a lot more work

Actually, no, if they violate TOS then we have to pull their post and your post telling them they're violating.  It would be better to report the post so that we may deal with just the one post.

unless they get to it quickly enough to edit it...which then removes work from your load and informs them and is extremely helpful...therefore welcoming...

Applauds ModTwentyOne!!!!

In this area I approach things differently, because people are new and often unsure how to approach things. Some have picked up bad habits of how to post from other arenas, thinking that it the way you are supposed to post. Yeah some may be trolls, but if they are ignored they usually go away.

For me it comes down to 1) Welcome those that even on the surface seem sincere to introduce themselves 2) offer advice on how better introduce yourself and allow us to get to know them 3) Ignore trolls and scammers, they seek attention in some fashion and comments give them that, so even negative comments fulfill a troll or scammers goal. 4) Try and get others to treat this area a little differently by being welcoming.

If this was in fact a physical place, this area would be the foyer where people say 'Hi welcome to CM. Glad you could join us." and the main areas would be where other things may happen. Leave the foyer open to the welcoming attitude and we may get more interesting posters here. Instead it has appeared to be an initiation line, which often turns even good posters off.

Thanks again to the Mods for doing a good job!

I agree with all of what you said except I wanted to add..if this was a physical place, and some dude came up to me and said "i want 2 cum on u tit and mistres dominat me NOW", I'd punch him in the throat, and tell him to fuck off.
So you see, I really *am* nicer online.

Here's the short story: we need to just stay the hell away from this section.

Orion seems to be The New Holly, and hats off to him. Thanks, I appreciate it!

But can he cook meatloaf?

And... (so as not to hijack the thread)....

Welcome to CM (again) and good luck ModeratorTwentyOne.

(You'll need it - we're hard work, aren't we?)
