Yes, I have done a few things before, like egg white face masque and mixed shea butter, coconut butter etc for body cream and simple stuff like that.. but never "cooked" anything up like soap or lip balm.. I am very impressed you make your own soap.. thats so cool.. [:)] I dont know any other guys that do that.. you are one of a kind, Peon... [8D]

[sm=hippie.gif] As someone who formally owned a natural bath and body products company, make sure you pay attention to preservatives. Vitamin E, Grapefruit Seed Extract and ROE do not actually preserve products regardless of what some people say.

I tend to like things that dont need preserving or just make up small batchs so they will be used up quickly.. I used to make up my own Vitamin C serum and that stuff goes bad very quickly, but it turns yellowish when its going bad.. I would do enough to last for about 1/2 a week at a time.. it was easy to make.. and cheap too..

I have been making my own stuff and using it for over 20 years. Shea butter and coconut oil have an extremely long shelf life. If you use it it wont go bad. The benefit of using local honey is it is usually unpasteurized. There is a ton of health benefits for your skin in unpasteurized honey. Peon where is this book you speak of? Sounds great!

Oh gawd, now you're asking. I don't know, in short. I'll have to ask my mother - her mother used to use them and my mother herself picked up some tricks from her.
