Lol, IT"S MURDER until it's proven to be self defense.

The shooter has committed a capital crime and needs to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they felt their lives were threatened JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CASE OF SELF DEFENSE.

Not in this country it ain't. Why don't you go take a law course? In this country people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. That's not for only little, petty crimes or traffic offenses. It's for *every* crime.

How about making the streets safe for kids walking to their own homes?

How would a shoot-out between you and George go?

Cute. But we already know how things would go when the punk kid attacks first. If, however, the kid just answered the damned question, there'd be no confrontation at all, now would there?

I would certainly rather people were proven guilty before they were executed. Call me an old stickler, but I think it's pretty fucking reasonable to ask someone who has just killed someone else to justify their actions.

I mean.... christ on a stick!

Firstly, get your terms straight. Shooting someone who is making you fear for your life isn't an execution, it's self-defense. An execution is carried out in an electric chair, gas chamber, or on a stretcher with a needle in your arm (or in a mob boss' basement).

Secondly, he was asked to justify his shoot. And he did by detailing what happened and why he shot. I'd love to see any "evidence" to the contrary, but there is none.

Sorry ol chum but most folks think that just taking the killers word for it doesn`t cut it.

That`s why the law itself will be amended out of existence or killed outright........
Get it? Killed outright?...Get it?[:D]

So if you were walking through your own, private, gated community and a stranger walked up and and not being a cop, demanded to know who you were....you wouldn`t tell the stranger go to fuck off?I would.

In fact,I would want to know who the fuck THEY were and why THEY were on MY street......but that`s me.

I certainly am NOT going to assume that every stranger walking/running by my house with a gun.... is a law abiding citizen....I`m apt to think the opposite and would call the police, especially if there was a wannabe boyscout sitting outside my home loitering with a 9mm pistol on their lap.

Evidently it ain't "most folks" or else such laws wouldn't have been passed to begin with.

Which is exactly how we know the punk kid started the fight.

If someone asks me a question -- using words -- I'd answer them -- again, using words.

Assumption. You do know what the "C" in CHL means, right. It means concealed (ie. not visible). So you'd not know he had the gun unless you made him feel like pulling it was the only option. Kinda like the punk kid did.

Owner59 -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/20/2012 9:58:22 PM)

The last thing we know about, was the kid going AWAY from George.....

That poor George was a attacked....... is a George tall tale......There`s no evidence that George was attacked other that George`s word.

We need MORE than the killer`s word............when they shoot someone.Sorry.......

No, the last thing we know is that George lost sight of the punk and was returning to his truck when he was attacked.

And just as soon as you provide the evidence of that, this will be settled. But I know and you know you don't have such evidence.

His injuries are enough evidence for me. If they aren't for you, nothing ever will be.

Owner59 -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/20/2012 10:27:02 PM)

And the evidence of these injuries?

By that I mean official.....law enforcement collected evidence......

Not what the killer claims...or "anonymous" photos...etc.

Thanks in advance.....

Evidence is evidence regardless of the source. Pity you don't know that. But since you want *official*.... how about the video of his first (of 2) arrest where you can see the marks on his head?

Go ahead, dispute it. Discount it. We know you will.

Funny, you're here demanding evidence that he was injured, yet I don't see you demanding evidence that what he claims did not happen.

Owner59 -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/20/2012 11:11:49 PM)

I could "enhance" George`s head video till he looked like a black man......

The untouched video shows nothing but a clean shiny head.

Anyone can do it and I suggest you try.Take any photo in your PC and view it while pressing the contrast button.

If you keep "enhancing"a photo this way, you`ll soon see all kinds of marks, lines and spots you didn`t see in normal mode.

Thanks for proving my point (and other posters' points) about your refusal to accept evidence.

A) No it doesn't.
B) It's a grainy, poor-quality shot from a static security camera. You clearly have no idea about the lack of quality in most standard security cameras.

seeksolder -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/21/2012 12:31:33 AM)

I'm from Uk. Why is this story such a big deal,
"bad" guys kill others ona daily basis, why not have media attention on them?

Not many guns here so unlikely to happen, but there have been cases of stabbing a burglar with his own knife.
We would not be allowed to pursue someone then attack them though.

It's an argument that got out of hand, if the other guy had shot Zimmerman would there be all this fuss?

I can understand someone being scared and panicking and shooting, adrenalin must be high to follow someone you think is dangerous and confront them.

Uk "kids " have a lot of attitude I can't imagine USA different , with out knowing you are about to get shot, he could have just told him to fuckoff,

seeksolder -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/21/2012 12:34:06 AM)

Not saying you should shoot someone because your scared. Maybe a slap would have surficed, or call the cops

seeksolder -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/21/2012 12:36:33 AM)

Aren't armed citizens where criminals get there guns from? :-)

Not even a peep. In fact, 94% of blacks are killed by other blacks. Yet when someone from another race does it, it's national news for months.

Look at the spree shooter recently caught in Oklahoma. Four black men shot by a white guy....national coverage. The guy's supposed motive -- a black man murdering his father. Funny....never heard of that murder....only the ones the shooter committed.

Owner59 -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/21/2012 9:56:25 AM)

Either it`s a media conspeewussy or there`s a bunch of paranoids who thinks there is.

Actually, black on black crime is a huge issue in the black community....with plays, songs and books written about the subject and plenty of commentary.......if one cares to pay attention.

I have NEVER heard the MSM or a rightist EVER mention this.......outside of exploitating it in a bad faith way.Other than that.......it rarely gets metioned.

And most people are not focused on race......like the Zimmerman defenders are.

Most people were outraged that the killer was let go,given his gun back and wasn`t going to be charged.....

That....is what makes this case different.

Oh,....and we didn`t hear about the legal killing of the Oklahoma killer`s father, b/c it happened decades ago. You`ll have to take your complaint to the UN Commission On Fairness.....the "White-Guy-Whiner Division" of the Media Complaints Dept.

Actually, btw, something very much akin to the Fl law has been the law in Calif for a century. SYG laws are spreading, and will continue to spread, in my opinion. People are sick and tired of the lack of safety in so many of our neighborhoods.

We are getting very close to passing a federal law requiring reciprocity of CCW licenses, too.
Gonna be fun watching NYC and Chicago cops as they learn to deal with legally armed citizens.

Your right to act like an ass and escalate a situation unnecessarily is no defense against the consequences of that behavior.

Yes it is. Acting like an ass does not rise to the level if imminent threat of death or great bodily harm.

thishereboi -> RE: "Stand Your Ground" law under attack.... (4/21/2012 5:44:17 PM)

It would be a lot easier to understand your unbiased opinion if you didn't keep referring to the victim as a punk. [8|]
