ORIGINAL: Kaliko It's a system of selection, and it works well. Indeed. I wish more people would write lengthier profiles. And not just to let me know whether or not they're interesting. It's hard to make yourself stand out against the mass of faceless strangers when you don't have anything to work with. As you say, it's selection. For instance, including a comment to the effect of "include XYZ in your first message" in the middle of a long profile text would go a long way toward excluding all the people that are mass mailing everyone with the right gender without even reading the profiles to figure out whether the person is the right one. I've occasionally found people I'd like to get to know better, maybe even try something with, and it's pretty rare to get any replies. Of course, there's also not a whole lot of people on here that are close enough to where I live for it to make sense to contact them in the first place, given my requirements. IWYW, - Aswad.
