So how long do you think it would take for most of these "Financial Dommes" (the ones barely old enough to drink) to break and submit if challenged face to face?

No idea, but I doubt you'd enjoy it as much as you think since most of them are middle aged men running a con.

haha

Once in a blue moon I vent about something. Other than that I generally ignore the bs.

You can insult all you wish. It doesn't bother me in the least because you haven't taken the time to get to know me, and therefore your opinion doesn't really matter. Just like My opinion doesn't really matter to most on here.

I don't believe most of the crap I see on here.

But in regards to the comment asking about what I do for the lifestyle? Here is what I do for the lifestyle...
I am OPEN about being in the lifestyle. I don't hide it. I don't keep it as a dirty little secret. I talk about it with anyone and everyone. And I do my best to enlighten those around me that are not into the lifestyle. While I am relatively antisocial at heart, I do my best to make sure anyone that has a question about the lifestyle gets it answered and that they get the facts about it.

Like I said everyone that knows me knows I am in the lifestyle, most are not comfortable with it. But a few have realized it is not a bunch of wackos beating each other to a pulp.

So what do I do for the lifestyle I work to educate the vanillas about what the lifestyle really is. Despite the bs it causes for me. I put myself out there in the public view so the public can learn. There are already plenty of people teaching those within the lifestyle. We need more people to be honest about who they are and to teach the rest of the world about the lifestyle so that people can feel more confident about embracing their desires and sexuality.

It may not be much but if enough people are open about it then eventually people won't have to hide who they are. My hope is that one day it will be as accepted by the public as anything else.
I even had a bumper sticker on my car that said "Don't worry, it's only kinky the first time" That was actually put there by one of my managers at work.

That is what I hope to see.....

What I expect to see is our puritanical society in this country continuing to crush any attempt to live outside the "norm"

I am an optimistic pessimist

I keep hoping for the best but I believe the worst is still going to happen.

Now I am off to have fun.

So what is the life-style you are educating them about, white man? Yours, mine, LP's, Leather, Gorean... You mean you speak for all of us? Then I missed when you were made out spokesman, didn't get the memo.... If I could request that you do not speak for me?

Now what impression are they going to get? Somebody who whines about something on the internet that doesn't even concern him? Great job, well done... And they're not comfortable with it but you still push it on them. Damned near to being un-consensual.

Personally I really don't feel the need to let the whole world and everybody who knows me know that I'm kinky, just like I don't want to know if they have straight sex, oral or anal or if they might be kinky themselves. I just don't have that chip on my shoulder nor do I think my sexuality defines me as who I am as a person, plus I am not an exhibitionist, I like to keep some private things private...

@LadyConstanze
One can do some pretty kinky things with Vanilla Ice Cream cones even. I think the complaint was about people at least following a baseline set of ethics/morals. I really don't see any of the flavors BDSM such as Gor, Leather and etc.. promoting dishonesty and scams. Have financial wannabe Dommes established their own cult yet? Ummmmm...

Gee...I wonder how many people have had their wallets and purses lifted by Strippers or Prositutes? I can't imagine anybody using SEX to bait and lure victims. LOL (it's been going on for hundreds upon hundreds of years).

Have there been any threads centered around True vs. Fake Financial Dommes?

That sounds like an interesting thread. What constitutes a real Fin Domme, or a fake one? I'd like the OP to answer this one as well.

Some of the (current or former) Pro Dommes here have expressed a willingness to do financial domination but after approaching the potential fin sub with the details of how this would be done ethically, the fin subs went poof.

But there must be some real fin subs, else there'd be no Fin Dommes, real or otherwise.

Is "send me money, worthless pay piggy" any less real than a Domme who controls her sub's spending?

Ilayda -> RE: Young "Financial Dommes" (5/29/2012 11:46:56 AM)

I think that, generally, "real" and "fake" are just words people throw around to try to make people seem inferior or superior to one another.

I consider people "real" if they don't intentionally try to appear as someone they're not. By this definition, the "PAY ME NOW SLUT PIGGIES!" girls are real, as long as they're actually the girls they put in their photographs and as long as they actually view the world the way they claim to - or, at least, part of them does.

I'm not about to attempt to decide what constitutes a "real dominant" or a "fake" one, and that doesn't say anything about the amount of respect I have for that particular type of so-called financial domination.

Actually, I don't think the OP knows shit from shineola about Fin Dommes. My opinion is that he is just whining about them because either (1)he's not getting any bites himself or (2)the Fin Dommes are managing to do something he can't seem to at the ripe old age(haha) of 34.

I think he needs to grow up, lose the whiny-ass attitude and learn to live and let live. He will get a lot farther that way. Unfortunately, he's already made himself look like an idiot with this thread because, when people check profiles, some actually check the posting histories.

This is the internet and, yeah, there will be posers and so-called fakes/wannabes right alongside the "real" people. But WHO is to decide who's real and who's fake/wannabe? Fake and wannabe are just words that someone throws around when he's not having any luck himself. hahaha

I get what you are trying to express in regards to name calling in general, that some people do so just for the sake of posturing. There are some truely inferior people in this world AKA "Pieces of Work". While I'm not all that and a bag of potato chips too... I at least have a general sense of my relative position on the Totem Pole. In all honestly, there are a lot fakes on this site. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. These people should be called on their bullshit. (Taps the inside roof of the car) "I call bullshit!" <--- ever play that game?

I'm certain that there is real person behind every facade, even the most elaborate or shallow ones. I sincerely, know and believe in the fact...that there are Real people out there which are Real fake. They are Cheap knock off's of the real deal. Most people understand that knockoff Gucci handbags are of inferior quality and design compared to the real McCoy.

In all honesty, I don't see many "real vs. fake" threads which are of a subjective or relative in nature. If anything, it's bitches/rants about the straight up fakes, scammers and people that are 180 degrees removed from reality. Yeah, there's also a lot whinny bitch threads. About how hard this online shit is (really?) LOL Have to admit though, it's all rather entertaining. Entertaining to read some of these profiles. Entertaining to see the crazy shit posted in the message boards. Oh Hell, even the Chatrooms are rather entertaining at times. A lot of this Cyberspace stuff, is purely Entertaining.

Every once in awhile, you will find a Gem. Be it a message board posting, a person, a picture or whatever it is. These moments make it all well worth it. However, it also becomes a redundant repeating pattern (Get's old after awhile).

To me it sounds like he's pushing his kink on people unconsensually by "oversharing" and because he has a chip on his shoulder, just like he has a chip on his shoulder about profiles (or else why would he be on about "how long it would take him to break them and show them their proper place" - sounds like a bunch of BS and empty macho blunder to me).

Ethics are fine, but we can't police the ethics of other people and why would a grown up person want to do that anyway?

He's just excercising his legal "freedom of speech" right. He does not strike me as the kind of guy wandering door-to-door in the neighborhood preaching to every Man, Women and Child he can find. People also have the freedom to not talk to him if they so choose. It's not like he ties them up to a chair and forces them into a conversation about it. (really).

People in general push and overshare a lot, the existence of Facebook alone is proof of it.
A lot of people have hot buttons over a variety of issues.
Yes, this guy is clearly no Mr. Fred Rodgers either.

He was venting hot air (frustration), hoping to connect other people that feel the same way, and perhaps spark a movement. <--- that's my take on it.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Young "Financial Dommes" (5/29/2012 7:32:25 PM)

OMG, whenever somebody talks a bunch of bollocks it's his "freedom of speech" right, nope, he's exercising his right to make a complete ass out of himself, and he's extremely successful.

On FB if you overshare, people can simply press a button and they won't see your posts anymore, in real life having an acquaintance who bugs you with his sexual preferences... I would tell him to put a sock in, but not everybody is quite so outspoken.

And that he's the selfappointed missionary of BDSM, heaven help us from being represented by his ilk... I'm pretty sure that he's not the best advertisement the kinky world can have.

He was responding to the Question LadyPact posted.

quote:

ORIGINAL: LadyPact
Here's My question back to you. Exactly what are you doing about it?

If your concern is for the next generation of lifestylers, what actions are you taking? Are you promoting your good experiences in the community? (I mean the real world one, not the stuff that can be found on the net.) Are you spending your time teaching topping skills or taking any speaking engagements to explain how your dynamic works for you? Do you show up for learning days in the community or help those fledgling TNG groups get off of the ground? How many events this year have you helped to set up or clean up or volunteer the hours needed to get it off of the ground?

Always remember. When you are pointing the finger at the site about what it isn't doing to the next generation of lifestylers, there are still three fingers pointing back at you.

He was asked a Question, and he responded.

While I've not read the Book, the Author of "50 Shades of Grey" will clearly have a wider and greater impact upon societies perception of the Lifestyle and BDSM in general.

A "selfappointed missionary" (as you called him) such as the OP, doing what he's doing, is really insignificant compared to impact this Author and her book makes. I've not read the book (yet).

I know the OP about as much as I do the "50 Shades of Grey" book and the Author.

The fact remains, we have no control over how other people represent BDSM in terms of Kink, Sex or Dynamics.

Personally, I find nothing which the OP has wrote which screams to me, that he's representing it either in a good or bad way.

I'd much rather the OP represent it...compared to somebody which talks about how their Tits, Clit and other body parts will be cut off and she'll be used to Prop open a door with.

So how long do you think it would take for most of these "Financial Dommes" (the ones barely old enough to drink) to break and submit if challenged face to face?

Seriously, I perused the profiles of dommes today because of an arrogant email I received from some halfwit wannabe domme, and I was surprised at the number of barely legal dommes demanding tribute and such.

Honestly how much experience do they have and what kind of fool gives his/her hard earnings to some kid to be spent on useless junk?

Are these the values you want to instill in the next generation of lifestylers? That it is okay to know absolutely nothing about the lifestyle and be trying to live off those that are serious about it?

Surely there is a way to crack down on this nonsense.

Wouldn't it be nice if they screened this place better and blocked stupidity like this.

File this under: Who gives a fuck?

If you get arrogant email, block the sender.

If you don't like financial domme profiles, don't look at them.

If you don't like how collarme does things, leave and start you own site.

Don't appoint yourself of "the next generation of lifestylers" -- a lot of those dommes don't give a fuck about "the lifestyle" and the rest of future lifestylers will do fine without you.

So bottom line: quick being a pretentious bpre.

Thanks for the big copy and paste, you will be disappointed to learn that I actually read his replies, if you would have comprehended my replies you might have figured it out yourself.

So you feel fit to defend him, fine, whatever. What this has to do with 50 Shades of Grey - no idea. A book people buy and some guy who feels fit to be the spokesperson of everything BDSM - 2 different things.

You rather have him than a book you haven't read - well, good for you, have him, the rest of us rather not have him, but hey, to each their own, I'd hate to stand in the way of a great bromance. You have my blessing. I still think he's a pretentious little twat with a missionary complex.

Well well. The OP just sent me a private cmail bashing and insulting me. It seems that he prefers not to post his reply to me here on a public message board, as he would rather say his piece privately where he doesn't have to own his own shit. I won't post it here verbatim because, to do so, would be a violation of the TOS.

Among other things, he did accuse me of harping and braying. lmao And he accused me of thinking I was better because than him because I am older. I did not say that. I wrote back and told him, if he was nearly as intelligent as he thought he is, he would have realized that. I happen to think that, if his only response is to insult someone, that's not called maturity.
