Obama - 'If youve got a business -- you didnt build that. Somebody else made that happen'

I'll remind the eatery I'm going to tonight of that. Nope, wasn't your risk of your capital. Nope, wasn't your knowledge. Nope, you had nothing to do with it but get lucky.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday night, Obama made the case that those who created businesses should be taxed at higher rates because they are fortunate and were helped to achieve success by the government and other people.

'There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me - because they want to give something back,' he said. 'They know they didn't - look, if you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own.

'You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.

Your OP, taken from the Racist Times, doesnt even quote Obama correctly, so I will remedy that for you. Then you may see what Obama was pointing out. "someboday gave you some help"..... Most business`s start with a bank loan, and indeed many use tax breaks. Are you starting to see a picture here, ie help from society, with customers driving to your eatery along roads built by the taxpayer. Some of you Republicans have your head so far up your arse, that you cant see the wood for the trees.

" If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. "

And he is saying. You need to feel guilty and give back to others that refused to work, or those who were not successful. We will tax you to get it back.

You make me laugh. You look at the big picture and just pick out a few pixels. If there are tax cats for the wealthy....YOU...... along with the rest of working America, will fund them. Romney wont produce cuts without producing a shortfall.

There will be no tax cuts for anyone. Everyone in this country just got a huge tax increase with obamacare. On January 1st of next year another big tax increase for the middle class goes into effect. He has to go.

Wow, a bank loan. Principle and interest (profit) payments. The fucking bank is in it to make a profit, not be magnanimous and help you. I swear, you must think bank foreclosure is a fucking virtue.

You'd call an employee and all that goes with that employee being helped. Just who the fuck is helping who?

Not to mention all the help generated, not by good will, but road/gas TAXES. Help from society. You make it sound like an fucking Amish barn raising.

Help in your world is quite expensive.

You're loony tunes.

Resentment is one of the few things he has in the box to play with.

What else is President Obama gonna do? Run on his record???

Shit. It's only July, and we're here?

Maybe the next time Obama brings up Bain, Mitt should remind him of Jeffrey Imelt, GE and the jobs that he outsourced.

Why? Mitt can just bring up 8.2% unemployment, and that's happening right now.

Now read it in context, where it says something very different than your rant.

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -- look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

Why should Yachtie be any different than Rush or Hannity ?
Why should we have any expectations that our right wing idiots will bring an original thought to these boards.
Why come here at all,I drive along laughing my ass off listening to the right wing blowhards on the radio....only to see that days broadcasts echoed by kinky right wing idiots....word for fucking word.

No,he isn't saying that at all.....but what does that really matter because you aren't actually discussing what President Obama said.....you are discussing what Rush or Sean said he said.
Think for yourself sometime....try it,you just might find you can do it...though I have my doubts.

Those that get the MOST out of our system, those who benefit the MOST from the business environment we pay for and maintain and police and those who get profit MOST from access to the market we the consumers offer.......... should pay the MOST.

At the VERY LEAST......these spoiled whining brats shouldn`t get a tax-break for being rich and PAY AT LEAST the rates the middle class pay.

If the OP feels all that bad......I suggest he send these spoiled rich people his own money on his own and not ask the tax payers to.

It is amazing that we can be having this conversation with folks who hold up a man who takes advantage of every possible loophole,up to and including parking his money in a Swiss bank account,to avoid paying those same taxes,as their standard bearer for the highest office in the land.
But thats not something we are supposed to be talking about.....lol
Rush and Hannity claim that stuff is just smoke and mirrors designed to distract the voter.....lol
This shit is just too funny
