The conflict comes in that hardcore creationists only think the world is at most... MAYBE a few hundred thousand years old... and that's if you find ones that are open to a bit more generous timelines. The ones that put up stuff like the creationist museums think the world is only 6-7k years old, and that we walked hand in hand (or hand in tail, whatever) with all the dinosaurs, etc. They also tend to have no belief in evolution at all. Everything was mad as it is right now at the formation of the earth... there was no evolving. Now, you are correct to say there doesn't need to be any conflict between Christianity and Evolution really, that's true at least unless we actually do ever discover how the universe was created... but that's a whole different situation than a creationist. quote:
ORIGINAL: LanaDeVille I actually don't see the conflict between creationism and evolution, at least when it comes to Christianity. I don't see why the world couldn't have evolved after it was made. However, I am not a Christian, so I wouldn't say I was really qualified to say too much about that. I know a few notable stories, and that's it.
