Well, 128 of the 164 counries are supporting Iran, only 30 (even less actually since not all counries of the EU are supporting Israel) counries are against Iran... so yes Iran is supported by almost the whole world;)

If it can be done easily, why isn't it done more often?

Because Francis Drake is dead.

Nelson was a fine commander, but there was a more of Napolean's fleet left than there was of the armada.
(That said, Drake had the weather on on his side, which Nelson didn't.)

To the Strait of Hormuz and similar oil interdiction -

The NATO navy with the United States, even now struggles after years to prevent Kalashnikov armed Somalian teenagers in old speedboats from stealing the oil tanker and other ships in the area.

What makes anyone think they can guarantee the safety of the supertankers going through the region against a determined military attack with rockets and other significant munitions?

These oil ferrying vessels do not even permit their crew the use of tobacco products for fear of fires and explosions.

Oh we have seen this movie before. During the Iraq/Iran war . . on 3 July 1988 guided missiles from the USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655, a regularly scheduled Iranian passenger jet, killing 290 civilians, including 66 children, rising up in its flight pattern over the Strait of Hormuz. The Commander of the Vincennes thought he was under attack from an Iranian fighter jet. Strange things happen in war. Tragic what is done in our name, ain't it?

Since there is no Drake to be found, Il Jung has the sampans rowing to Iran then.  Solved.
I will now go get my worry on.

I don't know where you get your facts from but Nord-Korea is simply stronger than South-Korea, and China's ground army is way stronger than the US ground army, so in what way do you even think that Nord-Korea and China wouldn't be able to take South-Korea?
And nobody needs to invade the US;)

Numerical superiority is irrelevant. N. Korea can destroy Soeul because they have a huge amount of artillery within range of the Capital on their side of the DMZ. A strike without warning is quite possible. However after that initial strike the US air superiority becomes a factor and the N. Korean ground forces are eliminated in short order. Any attempt by china to send columns of foot infantry, the bulk of their conventional forces down the Korean pennisula just results in lots of troops being bombed. The only way China or N Korea has to counter the US technological superiority is the use of chemical and nuclear weapons which they won't use since they cannot strike the mainland US and the US can strike back anywhere. This is why China has never crossed the strait of Taiwan.

quote:

Pakistan and Afghanistan already sided with Iran, and Pakistan would even go war with Iran becouse of its good relations with China and simply becouse the people in Pakistan are already hating the US.

Pakistan and afghanistan do not actually side with Iran. Both are dependent on US aid and do not like the Iranian mullahs attempts to control the region. The government of Pakistan does not care very much what the people in the tribal areas think of the US.

quote:

For Indonesia its simple, they hate Israel, they aren't that close allies of the US, and Iran is their greatest allie in the Mid-East... remember: Iran is NOT an arab state.

Funny how they are quietly sending an Ambassador to Israel

quote:

Iran has a navy perfectly build to close the strait of Hormuz, it won't be easy to re-open for the US.
For Egypt its not a matter of doing it since there are only allies of Iran in the area, so they don't even need to close the Suez chanel.

Iran has 3 frigates, 3 corvettes, a couple dozen coastal missile craft, 6 or 8 deep water submarines and a handful of midget subs built to operate in the Persian Gulf exclusively. They have no significant long range strike aircraft or long range cruise missiles.

A single CVBG consists of 1 super carrier with an air wing superior to the entire Iranian military air assets, 2 Aegis cruisers, 2 or 3 Arleigh Burke destroyes and 2 Los Angeles attack submarines. This force alone is sufficient to destroy all of Iran's military assets in the first few days of combat. The US can deploy 10 of these if the need arises.

I think that you really need to find facts that are not based on propaganda;)

If you really think any military, or combination of militaries, can oppose the US then it is you who need to find the facts and not believe propoganda.

The sequel will be a true horror show. Iran has 40 or more large tankers loaded with oil moored due to sanctions, or so the various press sources have claimed for months.

Picture their usage to interdict the Straits of Hormuz. The English had a similar but far smaller scheme to deny the Germans use of some landing sites, as did the US for protection of Panama's Canal years ago. 10-20 million barrels of oil will burn a huge area.

They and others have done such things militarily before. They could scuttle one a day in the straits and keep the fires burning for a month.

No, but neither has had much influence on realpolitik for quite a while now.
