I totally didn't take time to read the thread, but I have been on a very strict diet for 8weeks now, about to start another 8 weeks on Monday (today). Point is, I've been successful in becoming healthy and losing weight. However, I am one who, when it comes to food, will cut corners for something sweet. So, I just wanted to say that 2 Fudge pops have 5grams of sugar and very little fat, low low calories. Go out and get some so you don't go nuts and blow your diet!!

You're welcome! Carry on.

I get a soft serve ice cream from McDs its 100 calories!

I have found some wonder foods that feel / taste like I am cheating when I am not. Including this wonderful GreenNoodle which is a healthy ramen.

my cheat food is a curly wurly.

I don't know if you have those in America - it's like a lattice of chewy caramel dipped in chocolate, about 115 calories and takes ages to eat so feels like a huge treat. Mmmmmm... I wonder if the corner shop is open?

So I've been pretty strict with myself, but not super strict. I've been still eating bacon (not turkey, but thin sliced and only one or two pieces) and of course sugar. However, I'm cutting really cutting down on sugar and salt and upping the veggies, especially the green veggies like kale. If I could get away with it I'd probably cut out my cup of coffee if I could get away with it.

I'm doing really well, but I'm doing this because we've decided that in a few months we'd like to try for a baby. So I guess it's a combo of healthy diet and a fertility diet. We already make Kale chips, but if anyone has any super healthy veggie recipes for green leafy veggies like swiss chard I'd love them! Or on the flip side lunches for work. It's been tuna (which I guess I need to be super careful of, leftover, or pb and J)

I've been doing low fat and cal moose tracks ice cream and pudding cups for sweet cheats.

Imp,
What kind of things are looking for for work lunches? (cold, microwavable, ect)

The healthy ramen I mentioned earlier GreenNoodle, is amazing and some of them have 6 g of fiber, 8 protein. I make a cold salad with the plain ones with spinach, tomato, and a little sesame seed oil and soy sauce. Their Tom Yum is amazing!

Target, sells this buffalo chicken strip that my son and primary love. I use a whole wheat tortilla or wrap, add lettuce tomato and a little feta cheese. It's great hot or cold.

I can do either or. I usually pack a sandwich on thin whole wheat bread, a baggie of carrots, some tomatoes, cucumbers, greek yogurt or low fat cottage cheese, and an orange. the problem is the thinner I get the more hungry I am and I struggle for easy snacks without a lot of fat. I'll check out the noodles. I will probably stray away from the buffalo chicken strips. I'm trying to get as far away from processed foods as I can. I really need to get my act together and bake some bread, but my time has been limited.

My goal this week is to just cook extra on my nights to cook and take that into work. I love when I make kabobs, the veggies and meat are all right there. I've been craving spaghetti, so I was going to make that for dinner tonight. I don't crave it very often and I really hate eating pasta because the crash is not fun, plus I have a hard time justifying the carbs and calories. Usually I make my own sauce from canned organic tomatoes, but from what I understand that may not be a good idea.

You can make your own buffalo strips.
Organic cage free chicken breasts cut into strips and marinate them over night in hot sauce. Then bake them. Once baked you can refreeze them and take them out as needed and either have cold or reheat.

Eat every 2-3 hours if possible that will cut down on the hunger.
That is what my gp and primary both told me and it works.

I crash from the regular pasta's but not whole wheat or the rice pastas (from Greennoodle).

I do kippers more than I do tuna, although I feel like I am cheating when I make Annies's whole wheat mac and cheese (think that's the name I'm having a brain fart) w/ peas and tuna. YUMMY! Hot or cold.

I find that it doesn't matter whether it's whole wheat or white pasta. It still seems to have a really bad effect on me. I really do enjoy quinoa quite a bit. I found a couple of fun recipes for things I think I have in the pantry. I'm going to try those this week. I already eat every couple of hours. I just tend to be hungry more often or for more food now that I've lost weight. I seem to constantly have to readjust my diet and eating habits. :P I eat salmon although my husband doesn't and we eat tilapia at least once a week.

I know for ME my appetite is tied to my hormones, stress, and emotions a great deal.

I also realize that before my parastroy and detox I craved certain foods and don't now as well as certain foods had a specific affect on me that they don't have now.

But what is the sugar content? I can't eat sugars, salts or high calories. It's working though!!

What on earth is that ice cream made of that it has 16g carbs and no sugar? I looked on the UK nutritional info and ours has 22g carbs, 17 of which is sugar.

I'm wondering the same thing. There can't be any natural ingredients in that stuff.

From my personal experience, what they serve in McD's in the US is not the same as we get in the UK.
Even the burgers are different.

I hate to guess what's in that artificial mess though.
It can't be natural.
So in that sense, I wouldn't want to be eating it.

It sounds like its all starch and artificial sweeteners and preservatives.
Not "real" ice cream.

Yeah, this isn't really what I would want to put in my body.

Whole milk (protein), sucrose (sugar), nonfat milk solids, corn syrup solids (sugar), mono and diglycerides (fat), guar gum (thickener), imitation vanilla flavour, carrageenan (vegetable thickener), cellulose gum (thickener), vitamin A palmitate (synthetic vitamin A; occurs naturally in dairy)
