Top Israeli Foreign Ministry official (retired) and ex-Israeli Ambassador to South Africa, Alon Liel candidly admits that his country operates an apartheid regime in this Times of Israel report: "As long as there is no Palestinian state and Israel rules over the West Bank, Israel is a de facto apartheid state, a former top Foreign Ministry official said Wednesday, using a highly contentious term usually employed only by radical anti-Israel activists. Alon Liel, a former Foreign Ministry director-general and ex-ambassador to South Africa, also called on President Barack Obama to stay home if he didn’t intend to warn Israelis about the dangers of an approaching “apartheid cliff.” “In the situation that exists today, until a Palestinian state is created, we are actually one state. I think those who want to justify their racism will continue to pick definitions of Apartheid which don't highlight their inherently discriminatory beliefs. But as long as there isn't "One Man, One Vote", everything Israel claims about being a democracy is horseshit.

What the guy actually said quote: There is a real danger of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank becoming an integral part of the state, he said. “When that happens, when the West Bank and [Israel in the pre-1967 lines] become one, and the Palestinian residents of the West Bank will not have citizenship — we’re apartheid,” he said. Which would be a concern if Israel had ever shown any desire to annex the entire West Bank and not give its residents full citzenship.

I think "apartheid" may be a poor choice of terms. For one thing, it only opens up pointless debate about the validity of the analogy with South Africa. I'd be more inclined to describe what's been going on (since day one) as "ethnic cleansing". K.

What Israel has done is the same thing the Nazi did to them in the ghetto of Warlsa and Poland and so many other places! Is there no older person to see that history is repeating "itself" I am so ashamed and gut retching sadness they do not see this happening!!!!!!! Why are other helping them?
