Amash is nearly pragmatic, which irks the 'republican/conservative/independent/teabagger' faithful. That would be mostly pure wishing and a miracle that he could get backing from the party.

He voted against XL Keystone, he is trying to take your oil away.

He did vote no and it ws a useless, unnecessary amendment.... wasn't about taking our oil away.

Also I did forget, which is so apropos, Rick Perry should be on the list. He might even have a chance as he is clearly bugfucking insane and is tight with some of the Texas oil billionaires who fund bugfuck insane Republicans.

Yeah, I think he's conservative enough to have a chance at the nomination, but his talk about seceding from the Union won't look good in the general election.

None of those guys, except maybe Christy, has any chance in a general election.

mnottertail -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 11:53:57 AM)

LOL. I know. I know. (there is no dripping sarcasm icon). But, by god, you don't raze the church and get invited to sit in the pew to watch it burn.

That is not a widely held view, I do not believe he is viewed decent enough by enough decent people it would get him elected.

If the citizens of Kentucky start paying attention he won't even get re-elected to the Senate. Kentucky is, by all accounts, having a very successful ACA rollout, both Medicaid expansion and exchanges. Also Paul has come out against the very successful, in Kentucky at least, Common Core school standards which have resulted in a significant improvement in educational outcomes in Kentucky.

Common core is a joke... 2+2 does not equal 5 and Im a huge advocate against it!

Then you know nothing about it.

The facts are the standards are less complex so teachers have an easier time understanding what needs to be taught. They are more rigorous so kids will learn more. The fact that they are designed by actual experts and are independent of all the dumbass shit that goes on at the state and local school boards is simply a plus.

Christie.

The only problem is that he once touched a Democrat.

1. Cruz.
2. There isn't one that has a shot, so they could run Limbaugh or any fool.

When the heartland finds out he`s a Canadian American ,he`ll disappear.

How about Ped Nugent ?[:D]

What really gets me about Cruz and the GOP let alone the Tea Party is Cruz father is Cuban, a country the US does not recognize. Cruz and other far right keep up this rumor that Obama was born in Ethiopia and by that he is disqualified to be president.

You mean Ted Nugent? He has stated an interest in running but he did not bath, change clothes and even defecated in his pants to get out of being drafted. And the GOP like him? What really maybe a disqualifier is he has convictions for poaching in California and Alaska. He sits on the Board of Directors of the NRA, so much for law-biding gun owners.

Nosathro -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 1:05:33 PM)

James "Chris" Christie would be the "best bet" for the GOP. However he turned down a chance to run for Presidential race in 2012. The far right would see him as a liberal and the NRA would not support him due his time as a Federal Prosecutor getting convictions on arms dealers.

Rick Perry of Texas did attempt a run for the Presidency in 2012 but shot himself in the foot so many times he dropped out. Then consider the Women's vote and he more then likely will not even get his own wife to vote for him.

Moonhead -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 1:17:54 PM)

How about that other Bush kid, Jeb?
He looks pretty credible next to the shower of deadbeats, freaks and retards who've been trotted out to caper like chimps rescued from a lab by PETA at the last couple of RNCs.

mnottertail -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 1:19:40 PM)

But he is a shrub off the tree, and a worthless fuck as any of the rest, it aint happening, his name could just as well be Schickelgruber.

Moonhead -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 1:22:07 PM)

Well yeah, but he can probably put a put half decent krewe together (or at least a better one than Captain Magicpants, the Brown Lantern managed last year) so what else can any of these idiots bring to the party?

mnottertail -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 1:24:00 PM)

Well, none of them can bring their brother, and thank the gods for that. This will never be perceived on the same plane as Billy Beer. And you can quote me.

8 months under a Kenyan was long enough for those who vote Republican, sadly.

Thankfully the idiots who are the Republican base are now firmly in the minority and demographics says that it is a permanent and ever shrinking minority. Even if 2014 doesn't break the extremists hold on the Republican Party, which seems likely based on the early polling, 2016 will.

The fact is its dumbing down our children... do you even know who supports it, who created it? Its more than simplifying it for teachers... it makes curriculum fool proof, but not by teaching. Let me ask you... do you have young children? You should research it before jumping for joy. Nevermind... thats for a different thread. Sorry for derailing!!

I'm not familiar with the guy, but if he's how you say - remember how Jon Huntsman did in 2012? He was a moderate, articulate, practical guy that seemed to have a nuanced understanding of world politics. I think he really would've had a good shot at the Presidency, if he's been the nominee, and I think could've been good at the job. But he never gained any traction with the partisan hardliners.

Actually I know a great deal about it and it is definitely not dumbing anything down. Anyone who told you it did lied or was grossly misinformed.

DsBound -> RE: 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate (10/8/2013 2:56:00 PM)

At the end of the day, the GOP is hurting and going by way of the wig. They simply cant sustain their current model, they're too much like democrats, only theypray before meals. Lol

DD's (dingleberry democrats) as my Husband calls them would elect a ham sandwich as long as it has a D in front of their name. Hillary has accomplished nothing, outside of being a liar, which she started perfecting her skills back durin watergate and of course most recently Bengahzi.

Theres two halves to the GOP...

Neocons who will want a Santorum, Christy or Ryan.

Then theres the more Libertarian wing of GOP, who will want someone to pull back the illegal power the federal government has assumed.
Rand
Amash

Cruz and Jibdal are in same boat... Cruzs dad was born in cuba but I suppose media could blank that out and if anyone questioned it, theyd be racist. But, thats doable!! ;) Again, Jindal is in the same boat.

Gary Johnson may try again

The changes Mitt made from republican convention make it near impossible for a populace pick to come out of the process... thats why again you'll hear me say theres no difference between parties.
