I didn't find that offensive either. I think when one doesn't understand something, it's healthy to ask. I would tend to agree with perverse. I've found many more who tend to be switches than not. And, as stated it doesn't necessarily mean that you 'take turns' with the same person. I spent 6 yrs as a dominant, had subs of my own etc. And, I enjoyed it. Presently, I am exploring the sub side of me. It's something that I've wanted to do for a long time. I still Top now and then, but have no wish to have a sub of my own. I don't rule it out for the future, it's just not where I'm at now. I'm enjoying this too much...lol I also find that I can't go from one mode to another quickly. (I know one woman who can be topped one moment, and then go on to top someone else.) But, that's just me and my headspace. We all have our things. That's what makes this lifestyle so great....*g* quote:
ORIGINAL: perverseangelic I don't know that you offended anyone. I think it's safe to say that it more than "can happen." It happens, as far as I know, with a decent amount of regularity. In my search for play partners, I've found those that I assoicate with to be divided into almost even thirds, dominant/submissive/switch, and that the switch group is the most balanced in terms of gender. It says it on some other parts of this board, but "switch" doesn't always mean"I switch roles with one person." In some cases, an individual submits to one person, and tops others. For example, slaves that themselves have beta slaves. I think it's all in how you look at it.
