I think I, like a lot of Brits, was brought up to see Nazis as silly: as G B Shaw once pointed out, ridicule works far better as a way of 'killing your enemy's power' than focusing on their evil. I've come to suspect that, in this respect, Brits were a bit unusual in their attitude to Nazis during WW2.

It's a fetish like any other. Some will hate it, some won't.

I play taboo scenes and found some of them deeply worrying (only done once) and others highly enjoyable (repeat!). My general mantra is if the participants are consenting that's great and I won't criticise you for trying it. Just don't ask me to join in.

"The Pink Swastika" claims most of the top Nazis were gay. Based on a lot of speculation.
SS black uniforms fit into uniform fetish of many. Black leather popular among BDSM gays. Some Nazi uniforms were leather. The Nazis recruited all the best clothing designers to do their uniforms.
FYI, I hit puberty during WW2 and my sadistic cousin and I often "Played" Nazi vs captured US airman.
Role-playing; Nazi is a "short-hand" means of establishing dynamic of encounter.
Just a few thoughts on the subject.
