Curious.... before this thread, I'd never seen the term "twatwaffle" before.
Anyone have a clue where it comes from?

I can't tell you where it comes from. The first time I ever saw it was here.

Unless someone spontaneously invented it or I pulled it from some long forgotten memory, I think it's a Kana original.

I went through a spell a few years back where everything was "Twat"or "Wad." (I really like Fuckwad. It rolls so well, you fuckwad bastard you)
Twatwaffle came out of that period :-)

(See notes above re Stifler speak for origin details)

ResidentSadist -> RE: Should we be able to call a rose, a rose? (1/24/2014 10:15:34 AM)

I understand your desire to exercise freedom of speech while engaging in twatwafflery. Moving those posts to a segregated area would satisfy both our perspectives and would keep richer content in the mainstream of the CollarChat forums. Maybe they could rename the Politics and Religion forum to Politics, Religion & Twatwafflery using it as the destination for those twatastically twatish troll threads?

Well, I vote no but for a different reason. The particular twat you are referring to is seeking negative attention. The more you give, the more they are inspied to stay and post. If you completely ignore them, they will go away and seek attention elsewhere.

I was mod at a smaller board, 80k members. It was techy gamers board so IP ban was hard, everyone knew about proxy servers. When we had a twatwaffle post troll bait, all the regulars knew not to respond. The few noobs that did respond got a personal form letter from me telling them if they did respond, I would ban them. They were not allowed to respond to the twatwaffle at all, anywhere, forever, for any reason, even if they said something that wasn;t troll bait. I sent the form letter warnings privately so there was no public attention in the thread.

I did not lock the threads. I wanted the poster to get no attention, not from mods, not from members. After a few posts, the OPs got no replies and sank out of sight quickly. The twats went away.

My personal warnings about banning for feeding on troll bait were serious. I swung the "ban stick" on trolls with no mercy and virtually hung their heads out on poles at the front gate . . . i.e., I had a sticky with names of the people that were banned and why they got banned so that everyone could see we were serious about the TOS.

It was good forum with good community spirit. And like CollarMe, the noobs were always recycling common questions over and over. But we had assistant mods. Everybody likes rank, so we issued an assistant mod rank. They could move threads and view or post on the mods only forums but they didn't have mod ban powers. We had a Ban Request forum in mods forum and they would post the name and reason with link to the post.

The assistant mods were allowed to answer question and they patrolled the forums keeping everyone in check. We (mods) developed a nice set of form replies (in the mod forums) and that was the assistant mods handled a lot of recycled noob questions. The basic info was in the mod reply and then other forum regulars could fill in any variants on the theme with short and simple replies.

Anyway, I feel sorry for the mods here because feeding on troll bait doesn't get you banned. With a membership full of sadists, chest thumping Dom/mes and victim submissives when troll bait hits the water or someone is really begging to be humiliated, it's like a shark feeding frenzy.

RS, I can definitely see Your side of this. I could only imagine what Moderating anything where there is the potential of numerous vagina pastries, would be like. I will agree to disagree, however, My way of seeing it is that if you are going to twatwaffle publicly on the internet, then I should be able to publicly let them know exactly what I think of their twatwafflery. Not to mention I like to have fun with trolls, especially the ones who think they are witty, but couldn't win a battle of said wits, much less the war. Does it egg them on? Yes. But I believe in their free speech, in showing their twue twatwaffleness, and I am an asshole too. May not be a great combination, but it is who I am and I make no qualms about it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It is pretty much split down the middle on whether or not to allow.

DesFIP -> RE: Should we be able to call a rose, a rose? (1/24/2014 10:41:03 AM)

I prefer asshat. It's gender neutral. I strongly dislike people using female anatomy as the worst insult imaginable. It says to me that they view women as less. And I don't like bigots. If you wouldn't use a term referring to someone of a different race, then why feel it's okay to use such terms about women?

I think about this one often. I am not talking about simple disagreements with friends and foes. I am talking about the legitimate twatwaffles out there. Of course My vote is for the letting them know they are twatwaffles and freedom of speech, but that is just My opinion.

ETA punctuation... yet again >.<

(I don't know what a twatwaffle is).

Okay MP, now you've opened a can of worms.

First, never having tasted a twatwaffle, I cannot give fair biased/unbiased, input... so let's just transpose twatwaffle for cocksucker.

Now, I've heard cocksucker used in derogatory context. However, having many cocksuckers kneeling before me, leaning over the gear shift, sprawled out on the sofa... well, you get it... I have yet to find the act derogatory, in fact i find it wonderful. To the point, when a politician does something absolutely awesome, we should shout "Hail the Cocksucker!"

I suppose some people may have had a negative or even a bad experience with a cocksucker, but I have a hard time imagining that enough people have had such an experience as to transform "cocksucker" in all its beauty, into something bad. Even considering the law of averages, I've had more cocksuckers in my life than most gynecologists will see in a career, and have yet to have one so bad, I'd consider "cocksucker" to be a bad thing.

YMMV

LOL....I literally got permabanned from eNotAlone for using the word twatwaffle. I had over 500 good posts going, which is a lot for in there because they're not chatty like in here, just question and offer lame advice. Use the word once, not even directed at someone, and I got banned for "trolling", lol.

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Should we be able to call a rose, a rose? (1/25/2014 10:50:01 AM)

Using "cocksucker" in a derogatory fashion is against TOS. This is because of the association of aligning that word in a derogatory fashion and homosexuals.

Gender neutral and everyone does it!

WTF is enaotalone?

It's a "relationship advice" forum I stumbled on about a year ago. enotalone.com I'd like to see a bunch of you join up and then bombard the place with twatwaffles, lol. Their mods would just combust.

jlf1961 -> RE: Should we be able to call a rose, a rose? (1/30/2014 11:19:08 AM)

Personally, I think we should be able to refer to someone with the terms Ass, idiot, among other things, especially when they hijack a thread just to feed their warped sense of political correctness.

Sometimes, the term ass would be a compliment, since the proper term is so socially unacceptable as to make Don Rickles blush with shame.
