The impression I get is that you really aren't all that concerned because you aren't doing anything about it. You made the post this morning/early afternoon. When did you call PCP? And you still haven't responded to what the GI doctor said about your BP reading.

I have no doubt that all of your doctors have suggested that many of your problems would diminish if not disappear if your lost some weight. Based on your current photo, I don't wonder why you are still in pain after surgery, or why your BP is high. I find it difficult to believe any doctor would do another surgery until you lose some weight because back surgery is unlikely to help when you are still exertin so much weight on your spine.

Several people here have suggested you question your doctor further. I suggested switching, to which you responded that your insurance company required a 30 wait fro previous visit. Obviously you have chosen to stick with the same doctor.

By the way, many doctors would hospitalize you for super high. What was the actual reading?

This was a GI doctor, not a PCP. I can only see one PCP within a 30 day period and I have to contact the insurance and change my PCP before I see the new PCP.

The bp was 159/94 and pulse was 116

What's with all these crappy doctors people keep posting about? Did that doctor just let you leave? Didn't your GI doctor want to get your PCP on the phone at least?

I usually have good BP but can get 'white coat hypertension' when I am there if I know they looking at it. If my BP is elevated they don't even let me leave until it goes back into normal range, but they at least take it a few times.

She said she's already on Diovan, Metoprolol, Spironolactone and Lasix, and THEN they started on HCTZ. That's a shit ton of meds for someone so young.

At this point, best to seriously cut back on the salt if the MDs is ok with her labs, and and get real about losing weight.

The mainstay is to increase ionotropy and decrease chronotropy. An EKG can not be used to diagnose Heart failure as it is a lack of ionotropy and not of electrical conductance (which is what EKG picks up). Innmate, from the quality of your posts, it is evident you dont really have any medical training and thus should avoid doling out erroneous information. ANY ONE who completed medical school would be able to see the fallacy of your recommendations!
