maybe i need a 4 foot square magnet under my chair. to catch any of the tiny quilt needles if/when they fall. i'm determined to get this thing done in the next 3-4 weeks! any chance i could order a small table to spread my quilt stuff out on? and let me know when the rest of the boards have settled down...

I want to see it when it's done!!! I love quilts!! I tried to do it once.....I cut all my pieces and made a bunch of blocks and the blocks all "looked" like they were done correctly....I discovered that they didn't agree with each other when I tried to sew them together. What was supposed to end up being rectangular actually ended up being a lopsided trapezoid. I didn't bother wasting my time with the actual quilting. Sewing maching has been collecting dust ever since.... *sigh*

your best bet is to find a social quilting group. both the ones i've belonged to in the last 15 yrs i found through library notice boards (i love libraries). quilters love to teach people their skills. really, we just want to pass on that virus, because she who dies with the most fabric wins, and if more people accumulate more fabric, well, that just ups the bar a little bit more every day

VERY nice! I love it! I wish I could cut and sew a straight line so I could make something like that..... how big is it?

To the quilters in the crowd - be sure to check my sister's incredible 911 quilt. NOT, I repeat NOT a red, white, blue, nor silhouette of firemen nor any other such common/patriotic theme.  Millions of hits, has travled more than 50 thousand miles on various showings AND suprise - was published as the last page of a Wisconconsin state high school history book.  Years ago, but a suprise even though original image IS copyrighted and trademarked.  Publishers didn't ask.

Truely a work of art... be sure to click on center after studying overall view and then again, and then once more (after cocked-head study) to reveal the true subject.

www.GZQuilt.com

That's Ground Zero Quilt - easy to remember to pass on by word of mouth.

Edited to get "silhouette" right.  I was skipped a grade and I'm pretty sure that was a word taught then.  There's a handful that I just can't seem to get right.
