Even Blumberg has admitted to 500,000 defensive uses of firearms BY CIVILIANS each year. Unfortunately, for some unexplained reason the has been purged from his site. Could it be that the truth undermines his goals.

Since it is not there, why should we have to take your word for this.?

But mostly you're correct: robbers don't want to confront homeowners because the robbers are scared of being shot by the homeowners.

Perhaps if you were to get a grown up to help you with a dictionary you might disabuse yourself of your ignorance.
Robbers do confront their victims burglars do not.

You're not even close to being off topic. Around 25 - 30 of these pages devo!ved into a self defense tactical discussion revolving around one of those Rambo types who claims he can shoot the toe off a man who is rapidly running towards him at the distance of 25 yards You might find some of it amusing.

Your reading skills are somewhat lacking. It was the rambo types who said that shooting someone in the foot was impossible yet not one of the rambo types is willing to put me to the test.

I would venture to say that if you have a gun in the home and there are no alcoholics or drug dealers, you won't have a problem.

Why are you against pharmacist having guns?

All one has to do is Google Violence Policy Center and you'll come up with crap loads of links pointing to lie after lie from this gun control advocacy organization.

The Violence Policy Center's report says on page 7:

quote:

ORIGINAL: http://www.vpc.org/studies/justifiable16.pdf (PDF)
...
Using the NCVS numbers, for the three-year period 2012 through 2014, the total number of self-protective behaviors involving a firearm by victims of attempted or completed violent crimes or property crimes totaled only 263,500.
...

Per the CDC we know there are roughly 33,000 firearm related deaths per year, 2/3 of which are suicides:

quote:

ORIGINAL: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr64/nvsr64_02.pdf (PDF), page 10
...
The two major component causes of firearm injury deaths in 2013 were suicide (63.0%) and homicide (33.3%).
...

This would be 11,100 firearm related homicides, some of which are undoubtedly from a defensive use of a firearm, but we'll ignore that for now. VPC's data says during the 3 year span there were an average of "only" 87,833 defensive uses of a firearm per year.

In other words, per the supposedly anti-gun VPC, firearms are used in a defensive capacity 8 times more than in a homicidal capacity.

Maybe we should encourage anti-rights advocates to cite the VPC?

No, burglars just want your fucking TV. They'd prefer to steal your shit when you were out. Actually confronting a homeowner is not something they're interested in.

Someone ought to inform the person that broke into Kyle Burger's house, or the person that broke into an elderly couple's home and stabbed the husband.

ive posted this before, and it seems to bear repeating:

quote:

and that all Men may be restrained from invading others Rights, and from doing hurt to one another, and the Law of Nature be observed, which willeth the Peace and Preservation of all Mankind the Execution of the Law of Nature in in that State, put into every Mans hands, whereby every one has a right to punish the transgressors of that Law to such a Degree, as may hinder its violation...

[and]

...it being reasonable to and just I should have a Right to destroy that which threatens me with Destruction. for, by the Fundamental Law of Nature, Man being to be preserved , as much as possible, when all cannot be preserved, the safety of the Innocent is to be preferred: And one may destroy a Man who makes War upon him, or has discovered an Enmity to his being, for the same Reason, that he may kill a Wolf or a Lyon; because, such Men are not under the ties of the Common Law of Reason, and so may be treated as Beasts of Prey, those dangerous and noxious Creatures, that will be sure to destroy him, whenever he falls into their Power.

and hence it is, that he who attempts to get another Man into his Absolute Power, does thereby put himself into a State of War with him; it being to be understood as a Declaration of a Design upon his Life. for I have reason to concluded, that he who would get me into his Power without my consent, would use me as he pleased, when he had got me there, and destroy me too when he had a fancy to it...

this makes it Lawful for a Man to kill a Thief, who has not in in the least hurt him, nor declared any design upon his Life, any farther then by the use of Force, so to get him in his Power, as to take away his Money, or what he pleases from him: because using force, where he has no Right, to get me into his Power, let his pretence be what it will, I have no reason to suppose that he, who would take away my Liberty, would not when he had me in his Power, take away every thing else. and therefore it is Lawful for me to treat him, as one who has put himself into a State of War with me, i.e. kill him if I can; for to that hazard does he justly expose himself, whoever introduces a State of War, and is aggressor in it

john locke's 2nd treatise of government, chapter 2, section 7, 1-6 and chapter 3, section 16, 8-18; section 17, 1-9; section 18, 1-12.

to awareness' absurd premise, yeah, home/car invasions never into rapes, beatings and murders? or alternatively, we should just let people have the stuff they want, because, well that's not a threat to the victim in the future at all is it, not to mention the fabric of society.

I am going to assume for the moment you have actually read and understand what you have posted.
What this says, to those of us who read and comprehend english, is that if you 'think' I may cause you harm you have the right to kill me.
Dude...that is like totally phoqued up but then so are you and your jesus phreque mindset.
Jesus you are phoquing stupid.

"Alabama 11-year-old shoots burglar who threatened him"

quote:

Youngster Chris Gaither was just chilling at home with his dogs when he heard a suspicious noise on the second floor of his Talladega, AL, home, he told NBC affiliate WVTM-TV.

Gaither grabbed a knife and went to investigate, but when the intruder saw the blade he pulled a gun.

“He was coming down the stairs, that’s when he told me he was going to kill me, f-you and all that,” the boy told the station.

Unfazed, Gaither grabbed a nearby .9mm handgun, and threatening to kill the man if he didn’t scram.

“I guess when I pulled the gun out on him, he didn’t think it was a real gun, cause he didn’t worry about it,” the boy said. “He just kept on walking.”

Once the thief was outside, lugging a hamper full of stolen loot, the 11-year-old emptied the magazine — firing 12 shots before the intruder had even made it to the edge of the yard.

The unidentified intruder was hospitalized with one bullet wound in his leg, so maybe a little more marksmanship training lies ahead for Chris. Still, he did stop the theft and the burglar will recover.

Chris had a few words for the burglar. Whom he described as a “meth head” who had robbed his home before:

“I hope you learned your lesson from coming to this house trying to steal stuff,” Gaither warned.

There were a couple of other links to the story which cites that the kid taunts the would-be burglar. You know the one with the gun who got shot in the leg...the kid chides him about being such a crybaby. Somehow the non lethal leg wound did not enrage the burglar to the point where he used his gun to shoot the kid...instead he laid down and whimpered about how much it hurt.
