I've been around here a lot longer than I realized!
It's hard to "choose sides" here because I really don't know which camp is responsible for which cluster fuck. There have been a few, over the last 2-3 years, from what I can see.
I will say this: CollarMe used to be heralded (by many people I knew, personally) as the best site for meeting other like-minded individuals and for sharing our experiences and gaining knowledge. It was the apex.
Now, when I hear CollarMe mentioned, it's usually as the butt of a joke; not quite as repugnant as "Castle Realm" but, I think we're closing in.
This person, WhoreChris, looks awfully familiar to me and while my memory is fading, it looks as though I can no longer claim to not know any of the owners/founders. I believe this person used to be fairly active here (again; I could be wrong).
I don't know that the CollarMe "brand" is able to be rehabilitated. Unfortunately, what is suggested in this long post might be the best way to go; "CollarMe Re-Imagined" under a new name, of course.
I LOVE the set up on the CollarMe side. Even though some feel it antiquated, with some minor improvements, I still feel it could be a winner.
To that end, I would be willing to contribute in anyway (even, to a small degree, financially) to a new project/idea/direction should it ever come about.
Lastly (but certainly not least importantly); I extend my well wishes to the baby mentioned in the long post and if I am provided with a first name, I will add the little munchkin to my prayers.
