--FR-- Bergdahl was taken prisoner during an armed conflict in which we (the USA) invaded a foreign country. He wasn't kidnapped. He was a POW. POW exchanges are simply a fact of life during and after wars and armed conflicts. So why are there some that want to cry, whine, and pout that the US "negotiated with terrorists"? I think the answer is that since Obama is CIC, there are certain factions of the rabid Right that will look for any excuse possible to lay blame at Obama's feet for anything and everything from cold sores to super novas in galaxies far, far, away. I don't know if Bowe deserted. For that claim to stand it would have to be shown that he had no intention of returning to base. AWOL? Maybe...maybe not. Either way, I don't think he wanted or intended to be held captive by the Taliban, and to negotiate his return in a prisoner exchange is nothing more and nothing less than has happened in VietNam, Korea, WWII, WWI, and on and on and on. As to whether he is guilty of anything, I'm willing to wait and see. I'm just glad he is back in US hands.
