A question for all of you females out there who seek older men. How old is old? is there a minimum age? or is it simply older than yourself? Is it when they graying begins? Retirement begins? The age of your own father? where does that line begin for you?

I like older men. Old for me is 10 years above my age. But there is too old too. I do not want to exceed 20 years. My dad is 30 years older than me, so I don't want a guy too near my dad's age.

I don't actively seek older men, but it turns out I like them. My boy is 16 years older than me - I'd go a couple more than that, but not many. Similarly to Greta, I need him to be closer to my age than my parents', thanks!

In the case of people that don't look their age there may be an exception to this guideline. I always tell those older men seeking younger women to stay in shape, in fashion and in relevance (such as activities that appeal to younger women). If all you possess is the initial attraction of being an older man then that attribute will become neutralized without more mutual interests to hold the appeal. If you can't maintain that allure, at least be charming as fuck! ;)

OP, your answer is geared toward relationships. I tried relationships with much younger women twice and they both failed early because we could not relate to each other. If the young lady keeps in contact with her age-peers, I am not aware of what's happening in the worlds of 20somethings. That said, as far as casual nonsexual play at parties goes (bondage, spanking, etc.), I find that my age is an advantage. Young women feel that my age and experience is a plus when playing, and women my age and older feel much more comfortable with a geezer like me. Life is good. [:)]

Good for her. I like slightly younger myself. Too much younger is eye candy but not enough self awareness or interests to be stimulating.

Former was older than me, Master is younger than me but only by 5 years which I don't see as an age difference. What is important to me is compatibility, have enough common interests, be physically active, general lifestyle (must lead a healthy lifestyle), values, on the same page with finances and have similar libidos. I would now draw the line at someone having minor kids, I'm done raising kids, it's now my time.

My current sub and I have 30 years difference between us. I agree, the age matters much less if you keep yourself in shape, keep up with your health... I have never been a smoker or a heavy drinker, and frankly feel I do not show my age. I do my best to show interest in her hobbies and past time, relate with her friends. It can be difficult at times, but then I look at the relationship with no expectation of long term commitment. She has found someone she can trust to train and teach her in all aspects of D/s and that may be my only role in her life. We enjoy the time we have now, and don't worry about the future, ....one day at a time.

The part I bolded isn't something you should try at home boys and girls. I can get away with it because our /girls and /boys know me well enough to know that I hold them in the highest of regard, respect, and that I am ridiculously playful. I draw a soft line at 10 years. My parents have a 10 year age difference between them and it got into my head that this was a "good" range. It's admittedly arbitrary, and I've broken it before when I dated a man 17 years my senior. Right now, I'm with a guy who's ten years older to the day. So while I look within a ten year age range, I'm willing to bend that rule and make exceptions when there's good chemistry.

I'm all over the place. If its just play, he can be as old as the earth so long as he can swing a flogger still. Relationships- that's trickier. 10-12 years is what I have done successfully. Things that went up in flames because I was just way too young were more than that. I've been with my guy, who is just a year older than me now for going on 5 years. I've aged a lot in that time- I would probably be inclined to up to 20 years my senior now- but it would really really depend on the person. Plus if they want babies- I'd prefer they be around for that, so getting much older than that is just asking for them to die early on me and stick me with all the college loans for the kids. I get along really well with older people, my parents are my best friends, so its not totally out of the question, but the further from my age they get, and the closer they get to my fathers- the less I am inclined to actually want to date them unless the chemistry is there. I will say- if you're going to end up in the nursing home the same time as my parents, I would likely balk at that.
