On every team, there is one or three guys taking first string pay who sit on the bench or sometimes don't even get to be in the 46 allowed to wear a jersey that day. That's the reality.

But on the other hand, if you want to point out countries with worse murder rates than the US, how about you start paying attention to countries with much better healthcare plans and much better educational systems?

Ohhh, that would really hurt, wouldn't it?

Yep, but they don't get paid 16m

Tom Brady.

Sam Bradford.

On the bench.

Sam Bradford was going to be on the bench in Philly so rather than pay that much to sit on the bench they traded him to someone who would start him.
Tom Brady is under suspension.
Niether is a "permanent" situation.
Missed again.

I hear ya, absolutely.

From personal experience, I -think- that there is progress in the matter.

However agonizingly slow that may be.

If I correctly recall, you have a chem degree.

Take just ONE semester of Geology.

Then you come out of it, chuckling ... "Hah, 500,000 years? that's a short nap."

I am 'disturbed' as you are at the matter, sir.

But from what I saw ~5 years ago at the Uni, I think we'll be OK, eventually.

I have a minor in Chem and spent 7 years as a crystallographer.

That is not the issue. Kaepernick is not speaking out for himself. He is protesting the police treatment of poor black neighborhoods.

Actually that is true. He has never been shot dead by the cops.

You know I ain't rich and you know I ain't liberal either and I believe people need a hand up, not a hand out.

What puzzles me here is that I heard in real life that out west Black people might as well not even go there. Arizona, Texas, a few others, just don't go there. Of course I said "Well just don't go there".

Things have not changed completely but they are a changin'. Maybe not fast enough for some people but it is happening.

Other races aren't bad, they just disagree. And if anyone thinks certain races are good, look at the race of the guy in Texas who threatened a VERY pregnant Woman to shoot out her tires because she beat him to the parking spot.

Think about this, are there white skinned people that stupid ? I hope the cops don't get caught for killing this motherfucker, fucks like that give us a bad name.

But still, Sundown you better take care if I find you creeping round my back stairs.

Since you know he is so pure of intent could you tell me where they are stacking up the bodies in the streets of people murdered by the police?

I was speaking about this with one of my professors, the other day. He's an avid fan of the NFL and has been for longer than I. I was on a jag about the absolute toothlessness of Kaepernak's "protest". He asked what I meant and I explained:

Kaepernak didn't chose a form of protest that had any potential for negative effects on him or his career. I think this kind of supports your assertion and my suspicion of his motivation.

Why didn't he refuse to dress for a game as a form of protest? Simple. He might have been fined/suspended/cut, if he had. At that point, if the team had cut him, it would have been "for cause".

I haven't been able to find a legitimate source, but I've heard rumors that his mom disagrees with his chosen method of protest. I guess that could bring some negative consequences.

Kaepernak's an entitled pussy, trying to become relevant in some way because the avenue that was open to him before is no longer available. His "ballroom days" are over.

I am sure you know that he was adopted.
His father, who was black, abandonded him and his mother.
His mother, who was white couldn't take care of him put him up for adoption.
A white couple adopted him, cared for him, nurtured him.
And now he is saying that America is racist?
Everything he is or has came to him via white people and the arrogant SOB is, for his own agrandizement pretending that America is overrun with police death squads stacking up dead bodies in the streets.

This whole thing is a slap in the face of his adopted parents.

If he had refused to dress for a game he would have violated his contract and been dismissed. All of this would have taken place in the locker room and would never have become a public protest.

It seems he has become relevant to a broader and more important issue than just a football career. He has lost sponsors, I believe. Anyway, Michael, you said your beef was with the NFL, not with Kaepernick. Apparently, you have come out of the closet regarding him.

Quite a bit of colorful hyperbole by you. I never saw a report that CK said anything about police death squads.

His lack of gratitude toward white people? Just like them black slaves didn't thank Massa for the food he give 'em.

Of course none of what he earned came to him from his own talents at the University of Nevada

But he is doing it while being paid by his employer thus insinuating their agreement. That is why I agree that the organization that allows this political personal demonstration should be held responsible by those of differing opinions.

He... the 49ers and the NFL are assholes for doing and allowing it. One for disrespect and the other for being chicken shit. But in the end I really don't give a damn and I'll bet neither do most people. I'll still watch their product and cheer every time some defensive lineman slams his little ass into the ground.

Seems to me like the arrogant, entitled, cry-baby cowards are all the poor butthurt old white guys who don't like the fact that this is being brought out into the national spotlight by that uppity negro.
