Original posts are more like masturbating than other types of posts - once someone else posts to a thread it's no longer masturbation and more of a conversation. So in my view the number of posts a person has is sort of a number indicating how much they like to communicate with other people. Someone with a whole lot of posts in a short time frame is merely gregarious. Forum threads and instant messages is just how we converse nowadays and only a "problem" if it replaces or hampers real life interactions - in other words, if it is a kind of sick escapism keeping someone from forming real relationships.

Speaking for myself, I do not watch much TV. I have a TV so that I can watch DVD movies on it. I also read all kinds of media (fiction, non-fiction, magazines, online newspapers, comic books, etc). I listen to music all the time. I talk to people in real life and on the phone. And I spend some time online everyday doing this "posting" thing also.

But just think of what I am saving myself by not watching reruns or Dr. Phil or Oprah or some other bonehead blathering on about spray on hair to cover my bald spot...I'm not spending 2 hours a day watching some bullshit on TV so I can spend a few minutes doing other stuff like finding out what's going on in the world and exchanging ideas with other people in a place like this.

That would describe me, gregarious! I think I have like 1000 posts in the last month since I have been in the heat(I cannot do anything outside and I am an outdoorsy person because it is like over 110 degrees everyday here, over 30 people have died in the Central Valley)., and like a few 100 when visiting my Dom because I do not watch TV either, and he was gone for like 10 or 11 hours a day when he worked.

I am going back down to see him today for about a week and I doubt strongly that I will have time to post anything while I am down there... Im helping him set up his new apartment he just moved to so I will have lots to do, and I plan on going to the beach all the time when I am not doing that.. cool ocean breezes!

Hello juliaoceania,

It's terribly hot here in the UK too at the moment also and awfully humid( Our harvests are in a month early.)......not something we are used to for a sustained period. It can be so draining. 110 degrees must be murderous!

I am not at all gregarious, in fact, quite the opposite, which is why I quite enjoy the forum here. I can take part , post some thoughts.......or just quietly read and enjoy some of the many different ways people view things.

I hadn't noticed my *posting count* until I saw the thread..........and I guess I don't post a great deal, overall. I often weigh up whether anything I have to say is actually worth saying.....and other times I'll not think too much about the *worth* of it  and say it anyhow.

Enjoy the ocean breezes.

Regards, agirl

I can easily rack up 100 posts in a day in the random stupidity games. When I'm not in that particular forum, I try to keep my random stupidity to a minimum. ::chuckles:: Like Owned, I type about 100 wpm (and that's with real nails almost an inch long) and read very fast and when I'm playing the games, I almost always have to wait because I 'just posted' and not enough time has elapsed. :)

The forum pup, God bless his soul,
Has posted lots, that little troll.

The way he writes, with wit and style,
You will admit, without denial,
That his poems flow, his insults sting,
His stories charm, his riddles zing.

In short, the pooch, he you outclasses.
And makes you look like petty asses.

                                                            Anon.

And poems like that explain my 2000 posts.

Yours,

benji

Oh I HATE when that happens!

1 inch real nails, huh?  1 inch past the fingertip??  Dang!  Mine are real (hate those fake ones) but only about 1/2 an inch.  Any longer, they break or wear down from all the typing, lol.

Yeah, good point.  I take pride in the fact that fewer than 1% of my 4,000 posts came in the random stupidity games.

Unlike BENJI for example...

I just did a search - 300 posts in random stupidity since the 22nd of April, 2006.  You joined almost 2 years before that.  I won't jump to any conclusions about posts before that, but say that about 7.5% of your posts are in the random stupidity section in the last 3 months.  In "Word fight" alone, 139 posts were made, which is over 3% of 4000 posts.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with posting in that forum, but before making statements about how good you are, have a look to see how good you actually are. Because my cock's 10" too, until I look at it.

(and no, I'm not ashamed of my random stupidity posts, nor do I see my 2000 posts as an accomplishment to be proud of)

Yours,

benji

I keep hoping when I make enough posts I will get one of the cute original sayings under my names. I have thought about that quite a bit in daydreams how the CM Godesses and Gods will smile at me and change it to just something specifically for me. I really wonder what other people would change that to if they could change mine or change their own.

I want to be a "Certified Threadwetter"

However, I think the only actions the Mods may take towards me at any point is to ban my ass from posting.

I've wondered about those... Always figured it was a 'know somebody or blow somebody' kind of deal.  I'd like to have one that says 'heretic' so I can play around with my signature line a bit.

Random stupidity huh?  Third pair of cuffs, here I come.

Man, I've gotten 4 paddles just from making up stupid poems:

There once was a man named WyrdRich
Who developed a strange nervous twitch
   He never admitted
   That he should be committed,
But it's wrong, him being a switch.

There you go, you're own poem.  Now don't spend it all in one place.

Yours,

benji

Well, what with spending about 2 hours on here, then finding a post that I may have something relevant to say or not(grin)plus typing with the speedy 2 fingered hunt and peck method, I think that 6 posts a day is about an average for me.I am always amazed that some who have come on here vanilla whilst I have a paddle have zoomed past me into the 4 paddle mode in just a matter of months. All I can think is ok fingers speed up a bit, silly digits seem to know only slow and langorous..sighs......Tempting

I will admit most of my posts are in the random stupidity....I will leave the smart ones to add to the forum.

Yeah, but tempting, you bring a measure of quality here, unlike some others...  *Looking straight at pup, who seems to be lurking.*
