I don't believe that forgiveness should ever be about the person that's wronged you. It should be quite selfish, because otherwise, you're the one carrying the burden, shame, pain, and anger. The people that have wronged you may never care, may never know, and may never repent. The Lord's Prayer is a daily spiritual detox. "Give us this day our daily bread. that's a psychological justification that has some merit, but is not the only way to interpret the phenomenon. however...and its not that they are totally unrelated...the ultimate answer needs to be more theological in a nature.
