ANother piece of shit.....

http://thehill.com/homenews/media/359737-fox-news-commentator-roy-moore-should-do-the-decent-thing-and-step-down

Fox News host Jesse Watters responded to allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore (R) on Thursday, calling them “disgusting.”

"If these allegations are true, I feel horrible for these women,” Watters said on Fox News' "The Five." "It’s disgusting. Even just the allegation itself. It’s not just one person, it’s multiple people."

Watters, who also hosts "Watters' World," then called on Moore to “do the decent thing” and “step down” from the Alabama Senate race.

“The whole cloud, the whole stench around this guy, I don’t see how he can represent Alabama in the U.S. Senate,” Watters said. “Politics is a dirty business. Innocent until proven guilty. But this doesn’t seem like that to me. I’m just not getting that feeling. I think he should step down. Do the decent thing.”

In a bombshell Washington Post report earlier Thursday, Moore was accused of having inappropriate sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl in 1979 when he was 32.

Leigh Corfman, now 53, said Moore asked for her phone number and that the two met on two more occasions. On the first, the two kissed. During the second, she said Moore removed his clothes, took off her shirt and pants, and touched her over her bra and underpants, according to the account in the newspaper.

Corfman said the two did not have intercourse.

The newspaper also found three other women who said that Moore had approached them around a similar time, when they were between the ages of 16 and 18. The Post said that the women considered Moore pursuing them to be "flattering at the time, but troubling as they got older."

Moore has denied the allegations, saying they are "completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign.”

A number of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have condemned the actions detailed in the reports. Many Republicans have said Moore should be called upon to step aside if the allegations are true.

Moore has been the favorite to win against Democratic candidate Doug Jones, but the shocking revelations could roil the race. Moore beat out current Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.) in the GOP primary in September. The seat previously belonged to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Just in case anybody needs to keep up with just how many accusations against celebrities and politicians have been made since the Weinstein story broke.

And now I don't even want to be on the planet.

George Takei has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 23yo model/actor in 1981.

The stories of the "casting couch" and what many have had to "do", to "make it" in Hollywood and
the entertainment industry, seems to be true.

I am waiting for similar stories to come out, regarding some of our favorite bands/musicians/and musical legends to come out next.

Sadly, Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

This didn't just come about in the 1980s and later, just so you know.

Ah, but good old-fashioned outraged righteous indignation knows know bounds, not to mention makes us feel so good, and makes us feel so superior like nothing else can.

Half this shit is about mere standard groping, which I venture to say puts us at least a minor step above mere standard rape, as existed prior. But while we're at it . . .

There seems to be some 13-yr.-old-pussy-grabbing orange-haired bastard missing from that list, did you notice that?

Certainly not the OP or anyone else in this thread has noticed that glaring omission from the discussion thus far.

Edwird -> RE: Another Piece of Shit (11/11/2017 12:18:41 AM)

Somebody made a propitious exit from his popular TV show, The Apprentice, at just the right time, as it turns out.

Hollywood can't fire him now, can they? Too bad for us in this country, and too bad for the world

But Hollywood can cover their lying ass about what they knew or didn't know since 1898, right?

I auditioned for a band, back in the 80s ('83? '84?) and was told an "anecdotal" story involving this person's previous band where they could have had a three year - two record gig, if the whole band allowed an A&R rep to take the band home and blow all of them. This person told me the guitarist passed and the rest of the band was pissed at him. The guy I was talking to was the bass player.

He then went on to tell me that the only way I'd be accepted into the band was if I was "going to make the right choice for my career and my band".

I told him I had to shave, every day. His response was: "A million dollars can buy a lot of self respect"

I told him it wouldn't put a down payment on mine and walked away.

The band went on to enjoy a bit of success (A couple of really good albums, at least one world tour, and one of the members was in one of my favorite Rock 'N' Roll movies of all time). So, yes, some would know the band, if I dropped the name.

I can verify, absolutely, that it happens in music.

You missed that thing about Michael Jackson being acquited of pedophillia accusations, the anecdote about Led Zeppellin, a groupie and a mud shark, and everything that Pamela des Barres has ever published, then?

I am actually going to take some time to actually respond to this.

I don't think I stated that there had NEVER been scandals, if I did please show me.

There has never been this many allegations or scandals regarding celebrities, and those in positions of power/or influence, in which people came forward around the same time, that I am aware of.

I am talking about MORE recent scandals coming forward, about people/celebs, that most of us are UNAWARE of.

I don't doubt your story for one minute.
I would not at all be surprised, if many celebrities, politicians, and those with wealth, power or influence, are:
known to be coercive, abusive, extremely unethical, predatory and/or cruel in nature, or involved in illegal activities.

I have always felt in most of "their worlds", it has been the norm.
It is actually interesting, how many are "shocked" to find these things out.

Stories of "casting couches", and having to pay the piper, etc. have always been around.

**Having been around the "fringes" when I was younger, I could see, you usually "pay a price" for becoming involved with certain people.**
You usually see the "price"/or get an "odd feeling" fairly quickly.

Most of the extreme cases, where people have disappeared, been "found" not breathing, or had "accidents", we will never learn about.
People have always been paid to "do things" and paid not to tell about what they know.
I often marvel at those, that seem to rise above the fray.

Not to mention, when you throw alcohol/and or drugs into the mix.

gas, grass or ass they used to say back in the day
very few ride free
Are we really this surprised?

As far as I know all of the accusations against him were from years and years ago. Unless he is still going after young boys or constantly thinking about going after young boys, I am not sure what he is seeking treatment for. Especially at those prices. But maybe he thinks he will get away with it if he does. And while it wouldn't surprise me I really hope they throw the book at him and all the others.

great point thb, I wonder if any of the allegations are current?
On the other hand, even it happened 20 years ago, he is still guilty of extremely predatory behavior, including molesting minors to say the least.

no, it speaks volumes to the wisdom of a person recognizing the nature of life today---that people can be merely ACCUSED of sexual harassment, or anything for that matter, and lose their jobs without an ultimate arbiter, the court, deciding the legitimacy of the accusation.

if I were a high profile character, id want something like that in my contract also.

Yea, I am thinking more and more people are going to need it. It seems innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply to everything.

I can't speak for the dozens of cases coming forward, but in Spacey's case I believe he admitted to inappropriate behavior and that is why he is in treatment.

I agree time makes no difference and I think the rehab is a panic move to try and show everyone how sincere he is. scared is more like it though, at least in my opinion. either way I hope it doesn't work for him.

As to George Takei, I don't believe it for a minute and when they prove the guy lied (see I told you I don't believe it) it will hurt the ones who were really abused.

What makes a lot of this even MORE daunting, are the "blurred" lines.
You would be surprised how many people "go along" with these activities, and some of them have long term relationships with their abusers!!
Talk about blurred lines

I think that might be a very convenient excuse for some, too.

There is no doubt (to me, anyway) there are some women who know they're neither smart enough or talented enough to make a mark of their own so they ... well, they're prostitutes, really; willing to trade a commodity on which they have some personal monopoly for the fame and fortune they desire.

Which makes them, not "victims", but "hoowuhs" as we used to say in NYC (whores).

To me, there's no other explanation for "the Go-Gos" or the Landers sisters. [:D]

I'm having issues with the Takei thing. More than any other abuse allegation, this one, I just flat out do not want to fucking believe. And I find myself trying to tear the accuser's story apart piece by piece, and compare it to my own experiences and what I would have done in that situation. Or rationalizing it as a misunderstanding, mixed signals...

Takei vehemently denies the allegation and claims to have no memory of his accuser, who was certainly of legal age at the time the event is said to have occurred.

But I feel guilty about not believing this guy, or not thinking that what he says happened was really all that bad.
