You know what the ACA was never going to do? Lower the cost of health care. All it did was shift the costs around while allowing them to continue growing. You should be pissed she needs insurance at all. That is, you should be pissed that health care in the US is so fucking expensive that people need insurance to pay for it. Now, we have a product that is supposed to spread the cost of care around to make it more affordable, but because the cost of care is so fucking high, even the product that spreads the costs around is too fucking high. Your friend is in a shitty situation. I don't wish that on anyone. Getting rid of the ACA doesn't change that she's in a shitty situation, either.

Actually, your implication is the main reason they didn't vote for this bill is because of Trump. If that be the main reason, then, they were more 'for' it then 'against' it, ergo, they wanted it to pass. If they didn't want this to pass, then their disdain for Trump is moot and not worth mentioning.

It does change her situation...she at least has a chance of survival with the Healthcare act...and can you not understand... she WILL die without it.. How valuable is life to you... is money the only consideration? How about this... we get rid of the mandate... but then provide healthcare to those that cannot afford it and charge the rest of us what ever it takes? It is disgraceful that the US is one of the only industrialized nations without a national healthcare program... Our life expectancy is decreasing for the first time in history..
