Chloelicious -> What is/are you best BDSM book, novel, etc..? (8/18/2006 11:33:02 AM)

Hello All,

I would like to know wich is/are your favorites BDSM books or novels?
I would like to find some nice things to read myself, and hope you could give me some "advices"

You can give me the name of the books in French,English, Dutch and Italian, so feel free.

I ve not read a lot of books about the lifestyle but i liked the trilogy of  Anne Rice's "sleeping beauty" , A hand in the bush (book about fisting); and some french book as "le lien" (the bound) for exemple.

I'm currently writing a romantic D/s story with my Dom. He just got the first chapter posted on another message board that deals in erotic writings. We are very hopeful that it will be well received. I personally think it's wonderful, but then I think everything he does is wonderful. ;)

Drop me a mail on the other side if you want the link to the first chapter. The next one will be up soon as well. *Shameless plug over now* [:D]

Hi Chloelicious

I have just finished reading Slaveworld by Stephen Douglas who I assume is from the UK.  Now don't get me wrong I'm no expert on bdsm fiction and this is not a work of literary art however I did find highly erotic and rewarding.  There are three other books in this series which I cannot yet vouch for though I do have them and intend to read them soon.

Its is published by silvermoon.co.uk and available through amazon.

Good luck!

The best book on the mental aspect of domination and submission is George Orwell's 1984.

I have never read the works of de Sade and was curious if they are good reads and how mild is the content compared to modern day BDSM practices?

I found them extremely philosophical.

My favorite fiction has been a collection of short stories by Pat Califia (now Patrick) entitled Macho Sluts.  It's well-written, explores the interiors of it's characters and is fairly transgressive.

crOck,

I've read some De sade books: Justine or the misfortune of the vertue and the boudoir's Philosophy.

For the first one, i could nt finish it not because of the content but because it was not really what i was looking for, the second one I love it, this guy was really "decadent" and this book is full of refinement in "torture" even if I miss a big part ; way too philosophic for me. But if You like intellectual discourse, it's something for You.

Did you know that Le marquis De Sade had been to jail the half of His life? I think it shows how not mild was the content, and I found it not mild either when i read it even if it was a long time before putting a foot in the BDSM world.

here is the bibliography of the Marquis:

120 days of Sodom (1785)
The Misfortunes of the virtue ( 1787 )
Justine or the Misfortunes of the virtue ( 1791 )
The Philosophy in the Boudoir ( 1795 )
Aline and Valcour ( 1795 )
New Justine and Juliette ( 1795 )
The Marchioness of the Ganges ( 1813 )

Enjoy the reading and Background us

Morsprofundis -> RE: What is/are you best BDSM book, novel, etc..? (8/21/2006 2:04:36 PM)

Commander Amanda, and Resort to War, hot, yet very funny.
De Sade was not in jail, he was in a madhouse, mainly because he killed a partner with Spanish Fly at an orgy, and because he owed huge sums of money(there were debtor's prisons then, even for the nobles).
The old rip died in bed, with his teenage mistress, in the looney bin, at the age of 70. peacefully, in his sleep.
There's also a minor masterpiece called "Thongs", which is as squalid as it is arousing-it's available at most alternative book stores(I forget the authors of these books, very sorry!).
Finally, Evergreen Press published "The ABZ of Pleasure and Pain", a compilation of the hot spots in several s/m novels.
The sequel to Story of O is a screed, don't waste your time.
