ORIGINAL: sierraflowr For those that have diabetes, what is it you enjoy as a submissive, and what is it you dont? do you do anything special to take care of marks? or avoid them because they take too long to heal? is there anything you're extra careful about when playing? thanks for the info Things I'm concerned for with diabetics that bottom to me: -- Wellness. Are they feeling well? -- Physical problems. Do they have circulation problems? Non-intact skin? Healing time issues? Other debilitating circumstances like renal insufficiency, hypertension, etc? -- Intake. When did the slave last eat? What did they eat? How about fluids? What works emergently for them should they crash? Have they been having higher than usual urinary output? -- Meds. Have they medicated today? Are they on oral meds or insulin? What sort of scale of insulin are they on? Are they on a pump, and if so, demonstrate the pump operation, including emergent shutoff, to me. Do they keep a glucagon kit? -- Testing. How often do they test? How does their kit function if they're unresponsive? Where is it? -- Last "event". What happened during their last diabetic event? Symptoms? Unusual cravings or signs? Are they more non-verbal or combative/disagreeable? What precipitated the event? Was it stress induced? -- SM experiences in the past. How has their DM affected their play? Then we get into the play stuff: Marks. (Healing time.) Piercing and cutting. (Healing time, septic concerns.) Bondage. (Circulatory concerns) and in general, their responsiveness, how long we play, etc. I'm a paramedic and a transplant coordinator, so I deal with the emergent stuff as well as the chronic health effects of patients and their DM on a daily basis. I'd just rather keep my professional life out of the dungeon, yanno?!?!?!
