mistoferin -> It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 8:46:45 AM)

True is a four letter word....but that doesn't make it a BAD word. Actually I think it's a rather good word. I am really annoyed how so many make a mockery of it here. I think all this "twue" crap is pretty immature....and all of the other "w" speak too.. Personally, after looking at the definition of true, I know that I would not be involved with anyone on a serious level if I felt they did not have the characteristics associated with the word. Steadfast, loyal, honest, just, truthful, ideal, essential, consistent. I don't understand how those are bad things to be. Granted, what rings true for me may not ring true for you.....but the word actually has some merit....at least for me.

Uh oh.
It's only problem when people go over board professing how true or real they are.  If you are true or real, why do you have to shout it aloud to us?  Are you trying to convince us?  Or convince yourself?  That makes a mockery of the word and turns it into twue.

mnottertail -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:00:48 AM)

I am a W and don't give a shit.

b : IDEAL , ESSENTIAL c : being that which is the case rather than what is manifest or assumed

The ones that bandy the-- 'where are all the true whatever' stuff are taking it to mean the diametric opposite of that right there.

So, the very fact that someone has to use this kinda wording in their posts is right up there with One and Real and Vanilla and Fake and Poser and all the other asswipe ala Y/you C/can J/just N/not S/ay I/it I/if Y/you D/don't W/want T/to S/see I/it.

No,  it don't move me.

Thats the Twuth,

Ron

gypsylee -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:00:54 AM)

huh? wtf is "twue"?

MisPandora -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:00:59 AM)

But that's not what people are using it for here on the net now it is?

No, folks use TRUE to illustrate a point that they are more real, more genuine or more authentic than others, or to express that they don't wish a fake (who does?) but a TRUE honest-to-goodness Dom/sub/insert your pleasure here.

I can't say that fits into your dictionary definition.  Actually, twue belongs in that same bucket with Domme (yes, even the Dommay variety of it) and Real.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:02:26 AM)

Not to mention people in the scene use the "true" thing most often in the negative sense as in "A true dom would never..." or "A real slave always..."

And that's just pointless- it's just categorizing things according to one persons subjectivity and generally as a way to put people down and/or feel superior about themselves.

Iskander -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:05:24 AM)

I think it is a gramatical thing.. Not a oneup(wo)manship thing...
I have to agree.. The whole 'playing with' language thing to prove a point seems silly to me too...

Are you only true when you say twue? Are you only twue Ds/Ms when you say W/we?!

To each their own, but what point is being made?! I'm seriously curious...

Iskander...

If I say that I am "true" and "real" because of this, this and this....or I believe this is "true" and "real" because of this, this and this....that is stating what I feel is "true" and "real" in my reality. So long as I don't tell someone else that they have to adopt my lines of thought or live their lives in the same way I do in order to qualify to be able to use the words "true" and "real"....then I don't see a problem. I don't often see people on here telling others that they think that everyone should or has to live their lives in a manner identical to their own....but I often see people getting mocked over the "true" and "real" that apparently is the judgement that the "mocker" comes to and not necessarily from something that the "mockee" actually states.

Iskander -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:14:10 AM)

W/we were being twue to O/ourselves when W/we twuely adopted T/their rules, for T/their way was the twue lifestyle W/we all want to twuely belong too...

Works for me... [sm=banghead.gif]

mnottertail -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 9:16:25 AM)

two things:

ME:
I want a TRUE blowjob.
or someone says;
I am a TRUE slave.

ALWAYS and NEVER...........
they get mocked as well.

There ain't too much true in the way of personal vantage point upon looking within, you gotta go a long way to find agreement in there.

Is it ok to say Cwist? or Twat?

A real sub tastes great but it less filling....

Seriously, people do use those "true" and "real" words a lot.. and I kinda think "twue" looks cute even though I do not use it much myself... but that is just my opinion.

Yep, you're missing something -- a whole lot of posts in other various threads that built the foundation for this post in the first place.  People use it here when someone comes out and puts their Dom/sub/poodle way out to the board as "The Way" (TM).  You know these posts - they've been everywhere lately (see threads about "definitions", "real people" and "watering down WIITWD" to name only a few).  You may have been confused if you read in someone's post "My way is the True Way, but of course I only speak for myself..." -- missing the attempt in there to obfuscate and distract from the putdown of other people's ways.

Do a search on the archives - put in the word twue as the search term and see what you get.  Read some of the posts, then decide what you think...  about the word and about how it's being used.

Adults who baby talk drive me batty. It just sounds silly and immature.

That's the point.  They are making a mockery of how people use "true" by making it blatantly silly and immature with "twue."

Oh LA, I got the point. I can express my feelings though with honest communication and I don't have to resort to babytalk to get my point across. I'm just irritated by it because lately it seems that it has become some kind of a game here and it's been popping up everywhere.

Kalira -> RE: It's true NOT "twue"!!!! (10/13/2006 10:40:34 AM)

Personally, anytime someone has used it to explain what they are to me, I always ask the same thing of them. 'what is your definition of true, and how does it apply to you"

I have not a single problem with others when they use it. The same goes for the word real. I just ask them to clarify what their own definition of the word is. Not hard to do and it only takes a few seconds.

We have a winner!  Unfortunately we must confirm how true you are before we can present your prize.

I have read these threads, truth be told i started one of them, i've said it before and i'll say it again, go through the definitions thread from beginning post to the end and ANYBODY who can show me one example where i stated directly or indirectly that my way was only way cut and paste it to me.

There was absolutely no attempt to"obfuscate and distract from the putdown of other people's ways"

The poster cannot and should not be held responsible if the reader of the post makes assumptions based on their feelings of the subject. Nor should they be prosecuted simply due to another's lack of reading comprehension. Unless you are of course a mind reader and can prove that my open invitation for EVERYONE AND ANYONE TO PLEASE POST THEIR DEFINITIONS was anything other than was stated.
