I can think of another way for Hillary to get the job.  Lemme put on my Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie and hope like hell the Secret Service has more sense of humor about former presidents than they do sitting ones....

Bill is a stone around Hillary's neck.  Every screwup, scandal, and (most importantly) unanswered question about his administration will come up all over again in her campaign.  But if something were to happen to Bill, that would change.  A heart attack isn't going to do it.  For her to get a sympathy swing, it would need to be something tragic, with political, or better yet, terrorist overtones.  And while wearing my AFDB, yes, I do think she is that much of a cold, calculating bitch.

Newt would be pretty bad, Jeb Bush would trigger a knee jerk for a lot of people too (though he is supposedly the smarter one).

I don't think Ross had the temperment for the job.  I think the pressure would have given us another Nixon situation of paranoid leadership.

Yeah, Jeb would cause a shit-storm, but from what I've read, he really doesn't want to run, which I'm glad for.

Perot may have turned paranoid heh heh, some say he was already at that state, but the guy is sharp.

Right now i think we have BIGGER problems than to worry about Hitlery becoming President.

DUMB-ya has just about ruined this country and Iraq is about to fall.

She's not Bill's number one fan, Rich, but I think Bill can help her as much as hinder her, so she'd keep him around, I bet.

I agree.  I see Jeb as the Bush Clan's answer to Ted of the Kennedy Clan.

Would somebody page little miss conservative decorum to show her one more thread which supports her claim of how conservatives quite generally tend to take the high road. In fact, see if you can get Rush Limbaugh, that paragon of conservatism AND decorum, to take her elbow and waltz her in here.

And I think you've got that right, Orson. Those scrawny little ankles pale in comparison to the real thing. Ooh baby. More to love, eh?

As for Jeb, never mind him. He is yesterday's news. The handwriting is on the wall listing the order of ascension. In the wake of "W", Jeb is to be passed over in favor of "P." If you aren't familiar with him yet you will be within a year or so.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_P._Bush

You haven't lived until you've managed to blend with all those decorous folks well enough to attend a Republican Rally in FLA and hear the chant:

"Pee! Pee! Pee! PEE!"

For the Dicken's fans out there, if you thought the phenomenon of transparently named characters reached its high water mark with James Watt protecting the environment, Oliver North as the western hemispere's illicit gunrunner-in-chief, and Ronald Raygun shilling for the StarWars boondoggle, stay tuned for Governor PeeBush, carefully bred as the somewhat-less-whitebread figurehead. Whether they are waiting to play their Diebold card to then put him in the oval office is anyone's guess.

Of course there will be some tidying up to do in the meanwhile.

All Hilary needs to do to win is to keep her head down and her mouth shut.  These days, you don't win by saying what you are 'for' or 'against' ... only by maintaining the fear of what the OTHER party might do once elected.

Anyway, the 2000 election had two candidates ... "Anybody but Bush" vs. "Anybody but Gore" Bush narrowly eeked out a contorvertial victory because the corrupt people working for him did a slightly better job than the corrupt people working for Gore.

2004?   There were still two candidate.  Bush vs. "anyboby BUT Bush".  I suspect the democrats ran the dufflebag Kerry because at the time (if you remember) when the democrats were starting to position people ... Bush's approval rating was SOARING and he seemed un beatable ... so .... run a loser, then Hilary can run in '08 against a non-incumbant.  Then, Dean came along and Bush's ratings started to plummet.  What happened?  The media ran OVER AND OVER again that wingnut speach that Dean gave and it made him look ... well .... like a wing nut.  But the TV media is vastly liberal biased!  Why sink Dean?  They were afraid he might actually WIN the damn thing, then they would not be able to run Hilary in '08!  So, Dean sunk, and Kerry the candidate and it was STILL a close election!

The Republicans are doomed in '08 unless they run a REAL likable moderate like Powell or a hero like Gullianni.

What do I think?  Republicrat .... Democlin ... makes little difference.  Both are the same ... Both will steal your money and rob you of your civil liberties.  I can not vote for either of those parties because if you vote for the lesser of two evils ... you still get evil.  When my fellow Americans decide to stop being afraid of what the OTHER party might do ... take an honest look and realize that their OWN party is just as bad or worse ... maybe we will start to vote for good honest people again.  But somehow I doubt it.

And ... if no likely third party candidate comes along?  I think I'll cast a write in ballot for Cathulu.  Why vote for the *LESSER* of evils?

I think if Hillary is elected you are going to see a lot more government funded studies on feminine hygiene products and birth control.

Yes, he tans well, but I don't figure the family planned that, did they?

As for the police report, if that's the worst they have on him, no problemo.

Hillary does have some thick ankles, but seeing as how I don't want this to become another fat thread, I'll just say that she is quite fuckable, irregardless.

Come on now..... How does anyone see Hillary running?  Yes both the far right and the far left are salivating at her running but she is not electable.  She would be painted even more right than Kerry, and you know how that worked out.  Both Dems and Republicans need to keep in down the middle for success.   -J

I don't think there is any doubt that Hil will run in 2008. I do think there is a smidge of doubt she'll be thought of as 'right' however. ::chuckles::

HILLARY'S FIRST NIGHT AS PRESIDENT

in January 2009

Hillary Clinton gets elected President and is spending her
first night in the White House. She has waited so long..........!

The ghost of George Washington appears and Hillary asks,

"How can I best serve my country?"

Washington says, "Never tell a lie."

"Ouch!" says Hillary, "I don't know about that."

The next night, the ghost of Thomas Jefferson appears...
Hillary says, "How can I best serve my country?"

Jefferson says, "Listen to the people."

"Ohhh! I really don't want to do that."

On the third night, the ghost of Abe Lincoln appears...

Hillary says, "How can I best serve my country?"

Lincoln says,
"Go to the theater."

I have to say, as even handed as I am, and how much I tend towards the underdog....

(THat was fucking funny).

I hate to think what sort of freak the Repubs would have to run for Hillary to win the office.  Even then, it would take a third party split of the conservative vote to make it happen...  Wonder if Bill still has Ross on speed-dial....

Do you honestly think that the Republican party can field people more freaky than

Nixon, Reagan, MilquetoastBoy (George H. W. Bush), and Monkeyboy?

I am just shocked that people voted to elect all of them.

Although Nixon did sell out his party to get the United States out of Vietnam, so perhaps he should get a "Get Out Of Being A Freak" pass.

Which is not to say I think Billary 2 should be president, but I imagine she would appoint a cabinet that would collectively have at least one functioning brain between them.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.
