Lance,

I'm gonna give it to you. They do all write international political stuff.

I was actually going for sports. I find it fascinating that these journalists also love and write expertly about sports, from turkey hunting to surfing. In fact, Finnegan is considered the major surfing writer today--as well as the major journalist on South African social and political injustice. And that these pieces, many of them award winners (and prominently featured in Best American Sports Essays), are published in The New Yorker.

I just couldn't figure out how to separate the sports writing well.

So well done--and your turn.

Well, yes and no...

They are all authors, and they've all written for The New Yorker--which publishes literary nonfiction, so of course, they write it.

They've all written about the same topic area, though. Can you identify the common subject?

[They write about all sorts of stuff; this one is where they overlap.]

Thanks.

And here's a google proof one. LOL!  I knew a factoid about one of these states and checked all 50 states to find that, by gosh!  there are exactly four states that share this fact:

Florida
Louisiana
Nebraska
North Dakota

(presented in alphabetic order 'cause the list that I used to check was in alphabetic order. LOL!)  I knew about Nebraska from high school days, but I don't think that's much of a clue - but it is a clue nonetheless.

This is a unique quartet, so no, Hanable.  Many other states than those four have Natonal Forests. Clue: All states have some form of what we're looking for, but for these four it is an unusual form......

Nebraska has a unicameral legislative branch of state government and members are NOT identified by party.

But i believe that the others have bicameral legislative branches of state government.

So that can't be it.

(Nebraska's capitol building looks like a pecker.)

Their capitol buildings are sky scrapers.

Go ahead, fluffy! You got it! The other than Nebraska ones were built after Lance graduated from High School.

Everyone's adjusting to the new life, and it's all wonderful.  One day, I may actually get Deanna back on the site again!  Hey, maybe I'll ask that for Christmas!!!

Yes, they are all health insurance companies that carry the Blue Cross Blue Shield symbol.

Your turn shiver.

LOL, I hadn't been in this thread for a few days, and I got all excited when I read "Anthem" & "Highmark" because I knew those were Blue Crosses from my insurance billing days, and I so rarely just know an answer here without some Google.....dammit! lol

Well, windchymes, in the absence of shiver, I vote to let you give us the next quartet.
