Very true. When a man submits to a woman, She is dominating "him" ...why? Because She has chosen this, as he has.

I disagree. Just because a male has chosen to live in an unnatural state does not mean that a fermale does. I think that with the female, it is more a "survival" thing. When the Protector/Provider will not do his job, someone has to step up and take over the abdicated responsabilities.
Todays' female is taught that this makes them equal to males. Why would they want to be? Those males who choose to submit themselves to the very beings they were supposed to watch over should be ashamed.
But that's my opinion.
I wish you well.

Bosn, perhaps at first blush the societal influences you mention would seem to have a causal relationship to male adaptation.  Unfortunately, that theory is at least forty years old, and has been thoroughly repudiated scientifically.

You might want to review my post, #156 in this thread.

Farming is unnatural? Why? Most indigenous peoples are hunter/gatherers. The men hunt and the women gather. Living in the "urban" environment is not unnatural either. Since the beginning of time, man has lived in communities because it was considered safer. Sure, there are exceptions to every rule but that does not negate the rule.
Of course, if one really believes that man comes from animal...well, that's just weird... And don't hold up any fossils and bones as proof. If it had been proven as fact, they wouldn't still call it a theory...

Hunting and gathering isn't farming, you are quite right. It was developed in response to environment, culture, and needs of people. Rice and wheat are fairly recent human inventions, like domesticated dogs and cattle. Our behaviors and needs diversify as our world does - saying there's one way to be male and one way to be female seems to fly in the face of adaptability, development, and the undeniable diversity within the world.  But hey, if it works for you, great. Just don't tell me what should work for me or that the people who operate within my paradigm are f'd up by design.

And the end of this discussion has come (for me anyway). I don't waste my time with those who start in with semantics (Re: defining Farming and Gathering).
And just because certain people change (adapt) their way of life does not always make it right. "But hey, if it works for you..."
But I will tell you whatever I wish because unlike a subbie male, I have the right to say whatever I wish to whomever I wish and I refuse to give that up.

She wasn't redefining anything. Check your history. First it was hunter/gatherers, then a hunter/farming society. It is not any of our faults if you used the wrong terms.

Hmm..well...some strong opinions here..

Respectfully though, i will agree mostly with Bosn, only because i do inately believe that life was meant to be simple...and that we screwed it up.

Men were meant to provide and care for their women, protect them, as they are built in so many ways...emotionally, physically, chemically...to do just that. Women on the other hand were built to nurture and be subservient to men, to bear children and to protect them fiercely, to be pleasing to men ...thus ensuring continuance of the human race...(they cant keep their eyes of us slavegirls...LOL...or their hands!)

Pleeeeeease...of course this does not put any of us girls down...are you kidding? As a slave to my Master i am cherished, and loved far beyond any vanilla, "equal" relationship that i have ever encountered...and i was marrried for 10+ yrs for God's sake...!

Since women of past times decided they wanted equality..(i am no feminist ..THAT is for sure..lol) things have gotten a lil carried away.  i mean...c'mon...it's gotten ridiculous..."manholes" on streets had to be changed to some other term....my sons can't go to Boy Scouts because its Scouts now...so girls are allowed..but Girl Guides dont accept boys? How is that fair?? i really wanted the male bonding that they would have had...is that so wrong? i think not...Ok...i'm off on a tangent..lol...i do that when i get passionate about things i disagree with. Back to topic.*S*

Personally...i for one do not want to be EQUAL...i want to look to my Master for His leadership, for His guidance, to be His second in command if He desires...to be His peace of mind, His pleasure...His slave. i crave His dominion over me, though i am a strong female, i truly want to submit to Him..and well...He would give me no choice anyways...lol. (which i love about Him..hehe)

Does this mean i'm " less than" or a "mindless robot"...or a "doormat"? Does it mean i cant better myself or be incredibly intelligent..??? Of course not. It truly is up to me in most ways, as to what i am to my Master.

Anyways...lots of thoughts here from all...but let's keep it civil ..and respectful.
Agree to disagree if need be.

Be well all...

I don't give an F what they call manhole covers, but I expect to be paid fairly for my work and not fired if I don't screw my boss, crazy out-there stuff like that.

You can soften it however you like, but the bottom line is that telling other people they are unnatural, wrong, and should be doing other what they are doing *is* a put-down.

I've never thought anyone who feels as you do should do anything but find your bliss - I think it takes a strong woman to be a good slave.  In my experience it takes a strong man to be a good slave too, if you don't think it's right, don't do it.

Hmmm, let's see here. What is the one piece of advise that I have that can help someone find a slave/submissive that is "good"? It would be nice if all slaves and subs were the same and I could give a one size fits all answer but that's not how things are. You need to deal with each person as an individual and develop a relationship as it runs it's course. People are complex and relationships are unpredictable. Don't delude yourself by projecting qualities on a person that are not there. Be a realist. Most importantly, know yourself and what your values are and live by them. Trust is the foundation of all personal relationships.Trust is earned through demonstrating honesty, dependability, and integrity.  And humility is a nice quality.

Bull,

For what it's worth from a newbie, I've followed several threads in which you post. As of yet I have very little knowledge of the Gorean lifestyle, philosophies, ways, or dialect (for lack of a better term). That said, I've had no trouble comprehending anything you've written. Once I got the jist of how you put things, and learned what some of the terms mean, it's seems fairly easy to understand your point. IMHO You are well-written and convey yourself quite intelligently.
Just my opinion.
