ORIGINAL: julietsierra So, yesterday, on the way home from work, I was listening to a radio program called The Michael Baisden Show. Typically, he combines old school R&B, matchmaking and kind of a dear abbey format - with people calling in on specific relationship and sexual topics of the day. His show is in many cities across the country. Anyway, yesterday's topic was something called laser vaginal rejuvenation. According to his guests - gynechologists who perform this procedure out of Los Angeles - laser vaginal rejuvenation "will effectively enhance the vaginal muscle tone, strength, and control. It will effectively decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters as well as build up and strengthen the perineal body (the area immediately outside the vagina and above the anus). Sexual gratification for the female is directly related to the amount of frictional forces generated. We can accomplish this with LVR®." (as stated on his website http://drmatlock.com/) I was intrigued. When I got home, I did some research on this and discovered that there was a place here in Michigan that does the same thing. Further research found that the very general cost was around 9 grand AND that laser vaginal rejuvenation can also stop issues of incontinence that many women experience as they get older after having children. Many of the sites, both for and against this procedure maintained that doing kegels, at some point, is just not enough, and rather than having more radical procedures, that this might be a consideration. Recovery time, as stated on every site I looked into for this procedure was 5-7 days off work and no sex for 6 weeks. Some of the sites also gave indication that if a medical problem was part of the process (incontinence would work), that SOME insurances might pick up some of the costs associated with this procedure. Other than that, this would be considered strictly cosmetic surgery - with the added benefit of aiding sexual pleasure. So, what I'm asking is in this day and age of breast reductions, augmentations, liposuction, and other surgical body modifications - would you consider this process? juliet Juliet....As mother of 6 unmentionables i had parts of my nether regions break and my innards becasme outards...i had what is calleda rectocele and a cystocle...baslically 2 hernias one in the anterior part and the other int he posterior part of the vagina...so basically i had 2 hernia repairs...i will tell you I had 2 c sections...a gallbladder removal..an appendectomy 4 natural vaginal deliveries...and a double mastectomy and then reconstruction.....I will tell you that the vaginal rejuvanation HURTS and not in a good way....and well the other thing that usually isnt discussed is that you then have scar tissue there right where the G spot is.... and in my case my vaginal angle is off...and well as much as the men folk may enjoy it Im vaginally tighter than a 15 year old virgin! I have an ongoign problem with initiating intercourse...if i go long periods of time without iintercourse tings tighten way back up agan and it takesa few months ti loosen up a bit.....If i didnt have the medical problems that id did i wouldnt have had the problems....and honestly if i had it to do again i would have opted to have part of the repair doen from above (abdominally) rather than from below(vaginally) but that is juts my opinion..... As my Nanna used to say...if it isnt broken...dont fix it! little red
