It is not pelosi's job to undermine US foreign policy. It is not pelosi's job to undermine American troops serving. Those are the executive deparytment's duties. It's her job to preside over the House. Nothing more.

Hate to burst yer bubble there, but it is her job to make sure that if corruption exists that the House uses its investigative function to check the Executive Branch. This administration as had a blank check to conduct the war, they have failed our troops miserably according to almost every source one would choose to quote on the subject. Now Bush wants to send more of our good after bad, into a losing proposition, not acceptable.

Americans are tired of this unending war, and we do not trust Bush to conduct it. This is why Nancy Pelosi was put into the position she was, we are pissed off. It is not that we like her, we see how utterly Bush failed us. Now you can spin spin spin, call her vile names because she is a woman in a position of power, but that makes you the same as the Taliban in my eyes.

If you want to attack her based on the job she has done, make fun of her being a latte liberal, fine, but calling her a part of the female anatomy that most polite people do not call women, well that shows you the way you are.

No justice no peace, I am hoping the investigations happen, we need a little fresh air in this country.

Micheal, The House and Senate are constitutionally mandated to serve as checks on the power of the executive, both for foreign and domestic policy. It's the judiciary branch that's limited to deciding on the constitutionality of legislation, including that related to foreign policy, not that they've used it much. Am I the only one who's actually read the constitution lately? I heard that Peter Jennings carried a copy of it in his back pocket for years... no wonder I admired him so much.

Hate is a strong word. I hate every thing the Bush Admin stands for, but I do not hate him, he is a pathetic convenient idiot, nothing more. I find it rather something that you hate her. I would warn you of something that the people that hate Bush found out a little late, that which you hate you give your energy to, that which is given energy prospers, you want to feed something, hate it.

It's Michael, not Micheal. Peter Jennings was a moron. He still is. Yes, we have a triumvirate, with checks and powers, even consent. However, it is the executive's department to define foreign policy. The Secretary of State works for the POTUS. The SOH is just a piss ant job, duly earned by pelosi. The Courts and the Congress will decide, not some cunt that is the SOH. She's a token.

The majority of Americans were tired of war and corruption, and do not approve of Bush. We have two parties represented in America (and a few indes like me). Americans went to the polls and they decided to change things, that is the charge that the House has, now the Republicans that are left can ignore the collective will of the American people, but they do so at their own peril.

Now we can disagree all day and all night, but the fact remains, those who want out of Iraq out number those who want to send good after bad to Iraq

I have to ask why the intense dislike? I do not greatly like her because I do not see her as really all that liberal, and like most politicians, she tends to go with power. I do not respect that even if it has given her success to do so.

I do not find her to be intelligent at all. I have watched her speeches in the past and she just seems to be a windbag. Most of her expressed thoughts could have holes poked through them easily. In the speeches I heard, she seemed to speak from emotional reactions, rather than formulating thoughts that made sense and could be backed up with tangible information. And I tended to disagree with most of what she was saying.

Mind you, with the year & a half that I have had, I have not paid much attention. So I am going off of old information.

Well it seems as though most politicians I can think of do the same as you describe. They think we are all dumb so they lower their speeches to our so-called "level". I cannot think of very many who do not do this.

        There is that frustration thing... blindly wandering past facts that don't fit your notions. The Republicans "that are left" were re-elected by a majority within their district. The American people had the opportunity to fire every Republican in the House. They didn't. And since the Senate has to confirm whatever the House passes, Pelosi is pretty much powerless to do anything but generate fodder for the media and talk radio and us internet forum geeks.

      I think a majority of Americans DO want us out of Iraq. The question is how to accomplish that. Those of us who are capable of looking past our own immediate emotional responses and knee jerk reactions understand that the Sheehan Plan means disaster.

      If I may use the Good Mr Warren's cartoon analogy, setting the whole scene on fire is not the best way to deal with the aftermath of a car wreck.
