Oh yes...  FirmhandKY tells me the kitchen can be very sexy.    Of course, for me there's just something deeply pleasurable about being able to prepare just the right combination of foods and serving them well.   It is  a very sensuous experience, if done right.

Good food and good sex are both more fun when you can
get a bit messy, share and shower together afterwards!

To the OP, my Daddy spanks me with kitchen spoons, he talks about putting eye bolts up in the kitchen so he can tie me up and feed me tastes of what he cooks. He likes to have me drink wine from his mouth at times. He pulls my hair while we cook together.

Hello. =)

Julia, that's so hot, lol

My owner told me once that he finds me the sexiest when he comes home from work and sees me whipping up something fabulous in the kitchen. In his case, it's not so much the food itself as it is the "warm Italian mama" image he likes. Neither one of us are Italian by blood, but we grew up around Italian-Americans so we picked up a lot of the culture. Food and by extension the kitchen, represents a lot to us. Family, continuity, bonding. That in itself, is sexy to him. The kitchen is a symbol of our relationship, in a way.

outlier,

What an excellent thread and i so agree with you!

i was posting amongst the Goreans the other day about taking the mundane task and creating something sensual and erotic with it. However, with the right person, there is nothing "mundane" about the kitchen! i absolutely love the scenario you suggest and will have to try that one out :-)

i know i am dating myself here and worse, saying something about my taste in movies, but i will never forget the scene in "Flashdance" when Jennifer Beal was eating that lobster :-) very hot!

Wow! I must be one of the sexiest people ever, then, 'cause I spend 10-12 hours a day in a kitchen. *grin*

Seriously though, food and sensuality is very connected in my mind. Preparing a meal for someone else (preparing it specifically for them, I mean, taking into account their tastes and preferences) is a very intimate act.

I absolutly LOVE to cook and to me there is nothing better than cooking for someone who will ENJOY and APPRECIATE the time and effort i put into it before I serve it..I am really picky about my food, if i dont absolutly LOVE it then i wont serve it and will keep tasting and adding spices accordanly until its what i want..my roommate just eats because he is hungry so i dont get much joy out of feeding him..i made creme brulee and instead of waiting for me to put the sugar on top and carmalize it he ate it like it was regular pudding and i was furious...he dosent savor things that are supposed to be savored like good chocolate, he eats it because its there not because he will enjoy it...

Lets try this again.

The kitchen is probably the most integral room in our house.  It's definitely -his- domain, but I'm always welcome.  He's the chef of the house but always loves when I want to get involved.  He wants to go back and finish culinary school and I am all for it.  Food Network is probably the most watched channel in this house.  The ideas that we get from it, it's something we both enjoy and can engage both of us, it's something that ties us together and allows us to enjoy each other and the time we get together when we aren't working.  Having shifting schedules can be rather annoying.

The kitchen is something (aside from the bedroom ) that really brought us together from the start of our relationship.  From the beginning, I don't know what came over me, but I would try anything he put in front of me (and had my parents wondering what had happened to their daughter, I was the pickiest eater).  My parents immediately saw a change in me that was a complete 360 for the better.  The interaction and interest that I showed when we made dinner for my family (which was also his introduction to my older brothers and grandfather and uncle) amazed them.  The way we interacted with each other while making dinner was a big topic.  The affection that they could see between us and the way he involved me in the process and the amount of "us" that went into preparing and serving this meal to them was wonderful and had my mom -gushing-.

The kitchen is a place that can really bring people together in so many ways.  As long as you let it.  It's not something that has to be there ALL the time, that's for sure.  Especially on a day to day basis depending on the kind of situation a person is in.

In my case...it's me and him.  That's it.  So more interaction, teaching and learning comes from that room than not.  We can be silly, serious, casual, beer-food or wine-food.  It's something that we share and use to learn about each other, it's intimate on so many levels, it engages people with each other in ways that other things don't.  It opens people up for conversation about a plethora of things, it opens them up for interaction, working together, gives people more time to be together when their schedules might not allow for a lot of time together.  (Which ours tend not to)

In my opinion, the kitchen in and of itself is a reflection of a person or people that are in a house.  What is in it reflects the people's personalities, their interests, their loves.  The things that go into something is only what you make them to be.

There's meaning in everything, if you put meaning into it.  It can be something as simple as getting something to drink for someone else, that simple kind of gesture, can show so much to the person you're doing it for.  All the way up to preparing and creating an entire meal for someone else, without words, it can show appreciation, respect and love for that person.  The effort put into it, is something that is big for me.  I'm not nearly as talented as he is when it comes to cooking.  I'm not nearly as imaginative, but I try, I take the time to try to learn from him and he loves when I put forth that effort to be involved in something that he loves so much.  It's something that moves him when I want to take the time to prepare something for us all by myself.

When it comes to eating...it's not that much different.  The trust I put in him to make something that I will like, or that he thinks I will like, and in turn I appreciate his efforts by trying those things that I normally would not go near.  The praise and thanks that I give him when he doesn't think it's as perfect as it should be, the faces, sounds and eagerness with which I make my point when I like something that he's made me shows better than words what it is I feel when I eat something he's so lovingly prepared.  I take interest in the things he does for me, rather than just eating for the sake of eating.  It's a complete activity.  It's something that brings us closer on a daily basis.

Eating in, eating out, it's a complete experience that expands things for both of us.  Always trying new things, getting different things when we go out, feeding each other from our plates so we both can appreciate it, learning cultural things through different dishes, learning about places we want to go through different foods, things that we want to bring home and try ourselves.  It makes us excited in so many ways.

The sensations that coincide with food, are amazing when you take the time to learn about them, involve yourself in them, really learn to enjoy them.  Sight, smell, taste, texture, sound, it's so enveloping, the mixing of the senses, being able to separate tastes, being able to pick out this or that in a dish, learning to match drinks/wines with different dishes.  It's amazing to be able to do those things, it's something that I feel so good about, and I know makes him proud of me for.

There are aspects of what goes on in the kitchen that can be spilled over into everyday life very easily.  Creativity, organization, communication, so many other things that I can't even think of at the moment.

It touches us in ways I never thought possible.  The connection we make on an emotional level, we touch each other emotionally, mentally, and yeah, even physically.  The sensuality of it is more than just sexual, but hell, that sure is fun too.  The act of doing it together or even one for the other starts a connection, a road to a place so nice, so comfortable and so warm there are times where it can't be helped that any kind of physical intimacy occurs.  Whether it be a simple "I love you" gesture or something planned as part of a spectacular day/evening alone.

The kitchen and food are universal communicative tools.  If you choose to use them as such.

I learned massage and cooking in large part to seduce women and I still consider it time well spent.

As for food and eroticism, one of the most memorable parties I ever threw (with the help from many others) was one where food played an important part.  The food was all finger food, with things for dipping (breadsticks to nipples) and was spread around the house so as to create little islands of activity rather than concentrate it in the kitchen/dining room (that trick wasn't mine) and it made for a lovely evening.

One of the toys I am working on making for myself is a lightweight tray that is tied around the waist and then hung from a ball gag.  It will be a serving tray with cutouts for glasses (so they don't spill and a plate with a magnet on it so it doesn't slide around.

As for things like whipcream and chocolate syrup, they sound hot but they just get messy and sticky to me and it looses the charm, sort of like sex on the beach, it looks hot in the movies but the reality falls short.

You could combine the two and give couples workshops
Schedule the cooking in the morning and the massage
in the afternoon.

Oh darn....
food is erotic, even up one's kwat, depending on food...
furniture for bending over, being ph**ked upon, tied to....
utensils make better toys than a hair brush at times
the floor is for serving your dog or cat or whatever pet you might on ....
kitchens are as incredibly sensual as bathrooms are

It is time I started to thank some of the  people for
the wonderful replies to this post.

So I will start with Hime,  the recipe for the Hawaiian
dish is here:  http://www.ochef.com/112.htm

A nice example because it has only a few simple
elements but apparently the results very special.
Aso there is discussion of an "improved" more
complex version.  Hime, thank you for the input.

in another life i ran an antiques business specialising in english porcelain/pottery. as an aside to this venture, i gave presentations on the history of 'tea'. depending on the venue appropriate 'eats' would be served...scones, cucumber sandwiches, dainty cakes and my piece d'resistance, secret family recipe Scottish shortbread.  being service orientated, loving preperation/presentation of  'food' comes quite naturally...and affords pleasure to both parties.

Welcome to the forusm, odalisque.  Sounds like you have great stories and information to share.
Would you care to start a thread about tea service?  I think many would be interested to read and comment.

Regards,

Vendaval,

I second that invitation.  And I thank odal for her post.

As to your post quoted above it just represents the opposite
end of the same continuum.  For example I have had watermelon
served on special dishes, cut all sorts of different shapes.
But to me, watermelon tastes BEST when you take a cold
half slice out to the backyard on a hot day.  Sit on the steps
or grass, and just put your face in it.  And I can never eat it
without making that compairson.

How fortunate we are to be able to appreciate such a full continuum.

subsa,

Thank you for your assent and contribution.

It is not just that the food(s) are hot it is also that
the same qualities of appreciation of sensual subtleties
prevade both food, and sex.  Something I am sure you
and your master understand after our recipe exchange
on the other side.  I am glad to have met you through
this exchange

I know many compare sexuality and the love of food..heck..we even have foods with matching connotations...ie:..chocolate/calming,sexual,engenders feelings of great satisfaction in women, certain types of shell fish/increases libido,or who can forget the "Better than Sex" dessert...and I can also understand the sense of smell being heightened ~although it seems for men, the smell of food is better than perfume..:0)~..but possibly for men to find the kitchen sensual could be as simple as watching their woman as she performes a task, that somehow makes him feel special....Tempting
