Aquatic:  Serenity is kicka$$!  We love it!  We've all picked up some of the slang.  lol  We wish we could play more often.  If we start another campaign, would you like to be on the in-list?

I about laughed when I read the thread about "if anyones plays tabletop rpgs".  Hello!  VtM and Serenity and Hunters and Mage can all be played tabletop or LARP'd.  Since there's nowhere nearby available to LARP, we table them.

If any one knows of a place to LARP in the triangle NC area, please let us know.  We miss it so much.

I am into skills instead of kills. I can make potions and steal things. I can make armor, I can fletch too. Sounds like my character in a game I play. Then I joined members and leveled like mad in combat. Now I'm awesome... and come equipped with a whip. [:D]

If my computer were much improved I'd love to invest in a few more expansive games than RS. But for now... It's my cost affordable online crack.

* Sidenote: YAY! Someone's mentioned Eric and the Gazebo story. I nearly died laughing when I heard it the first time from Ed.

Oooo.... you are close enough that I could actually play. It's tempting... so very tempting. I'm still very much a newbie to table-top though.

As far as LARP, there is a group at Guilford College that does SOG. I'm sure I could get you in touch with them with a little research. I have several friends who play, even if I don't personally. I just want to know where to go for a good game store!

World of Warcraft occupies much of the time with my Templar and I... we're usually grouped with friends talking casually while we kill stuff, and then on our laptops we're running a roleplay scene involving other characters we have made.

I'm downloading the LotR MMO beta as we speak. Anybody else playing, and which server?

Has anybody ever had fantasies about being tied up or beaten with controller cords? This is my only regret about the move to wireless tech. Oh, to be whipped with an SNES cable. Ooooh, or using a controller as a surface vibrator! Gods bless who ever designed the Wii-mote.

To expand a bit on Aqua's response, Guilford College's geek club (yes, it's an actual organization) runs a V:tM LARP called Shades of Gray. I've got a few friends involved in it, but I've never joined up (mostly due to the fact that the tabletop game I'm STing happens on the same nights). I can give you some contact information, if you're interested.

ehhhhhm...no.
Giving stuff away..or, seeing it the other way...demanding/receiving stuff is cheating yourself out of the experience and thrill of earning the item. might as well just cheat then.

We'd love to larp again.  the only problem is the wee munchkins.  Xeth wants to get back in SOLAR, but time and $$ is an issue.

as for a good game store... hmmm... there's Lost Goblin Games here in Raleigh.  I think it's www.lostgoblingames.com.  There's also  "all fun and games" that friends of ours runs, but it just moved from their place in cary.

I'm a dice slut... i'm addicted.  I love getting new dice.. most don't roll well for me, but they are really pretty. lol

Xeth's b-day is fast approaching, so I'm trying to find more stuff to get him, so I'll be in the stores alot.  ::gotta try to resist the dice::

I've got set of matching earring and necklace that dice. The earrings are a d10 and a d8 and the necklace pendent is a d20. I wear them whenever I get an excuse!

I prefer tabletop roleplaying, using Hero System.

I'm in Indianapolis.

Even if I don't get a "gamer sub" of My own here, maybe I can at least recruit a couple people for our gaming group!

I always thought it would be really hot to have a healer wow character that exists just to follow around my future owner ;)
I'm not sure that my other characters would accept a sub role, they have minds of their own!

For my first girlfriend's birthday, I had a friend make earrings from my personal d6 and d4. Her class' hit die and the damage die for her dagger.

I got them made for me by a lady who was making a bunch (meaning I picked out the dice and had them made as a set) at Otakon. I've been beating myself up for not getting her card! Ugh.... I so wish I had. I've done some google searchs and haven't found anything. However, I might be going back this year. If so I can try to find her again. Hopefully she will be back.

Does World of Warcraft have non PVP servers so weaklings don't get killed?
Is it a game you can play without being tied (no pun intended) with a group that plays 7 - 8 hrs a day?

Yes, there are servers marked PvE, which is Player vs. Environment. There's limited, optional PvP combat on those servers, but most people don't participate. When You're selecting the server You want to make a character on, it should note whether it's PvP or PvE.

The problem with WoW (for me) is that it's not a community based game. I love interacting with the other players on Galaxies. Even if I ever so grateful for the /addignore function sometimes...
