We basically are who we are and we do best in a relationship where the other person likes who we are from the start and doesn't have a great need to change them. I changed some habits for the ex but the fact that he needed to do that created a distance between us. As he had problems with intimacy, it's possible he did this in order to create the distance he needed to feel safe. His problem, not mine.

That doesn't make any sense. Just like women shouldn't date a man to change him, why would a master pick a slave or sub that he didn't like? Why change them? Why not enjoy and love for who they are?

Hope you do get to meet her.  She is a lot of fun.  She's not always easy to spot, though, since she often disguises herself as "Librarian Luanne".  But, once her glasses are taken off and she shakes loose her long hair from the tightly wound bun on top of her head, she's beomes a "wild thang".
