AAkasha -> Why not add "full head of hair" to search criteria? (4/9/2005 9:40:38 PM)

All this talk about weight in profiles got me thinking. As a woman who has a real thing for a full head of hair (I am a hair puller!), I am tired of having to find a polite way to ask a man if he's bald or not. Then, the hair-challenged men sometimes get very angry at me and accuse me of being "shallow" for not giving a cue ball a fair shake.

Why should I waste my time looking at profile that don't have pictures only to find out I am conversing with a guy with a shaved head, or worse yet, a "hair club for men" candidate? Or when they find out I have a thing for hair I can dig my fingers into, they lie about their hair length and I meet them and they have a huge receeding hair line ("that's not a forehead, that's a five-head").

So, am I shallow for wanting a full head of hair? Yeah, I guess so. You can say that I am only shortchanging myself when I limit my choices to those with a nice thick head of hair, when mr. Kojak might have a better body or more to offer as far as intelligence, sensuality, and ability in bed. It doesn't matter; I *need* to pull hair when I am dominating a man, I need to mount him, pull his hair and watch him wince. If there's nothing to grab, I am missing out on something that is a huge turn on for me.

I don't care if men (or women) search profiles by body type or weight or eye color or whatever. We all have our "fetishes" for a body type, an appearance, a certain look. At least women with weight problems can (in many cases, not all) do something about it; baldies are just that, baldies, and treatment options are limited.

Now, I am surely going to offend lots of balding submissives with this post and have them calling me shallow and stupid for my hair preferences. First, I'll clarify this is not a rant because I am offended by the "search by weight" thing -- I'm not overweight. Second, I'm not as shallow as you might think, I ended up marrying a man who does NOT fit the criteria, and in fact keeps his hair extremely short, shaving his head most of the year because it's his preference.

Fortunately, I am free to pull the hair of other men as part of our arrangement, and his other qualities FAR make up for his hair-shortcomings.

ROFLMAO...I like that AAkasha...I'm 49 and have hair that's about to the middle of my back without the receeding thing going on. Problem is, although I usually connect with female subs who do like long hair on a guy, I got a response back from one female sub once that told me "I better update my look if I was going to EVER get a sub", I'm sure my sub would disagree. Sounds like a sub with my (Dom) hair would be great in your book...lol. ^5s.....votes for the new seach thingy for AAkasha..lol.

I have to admit to that one too AAkasha.... not just a full head of hair, but long silky hair. Like ScooterTrashes!!!!!!!!!!!! His hair is awesome and I love long thick hair on men.

I would like to add one more thing...... long fingers.... can we add that one too? Long fingers on a man is very appealing to me... am sure you can figure out why... and, I'm sorry, but this is probably the most shallow part of me, but I can't deal with ugly feet.

great post AAkasha

And I have a requirement for Wechsler Scales IQ test of at least 140. Could we add a criteria for that?

And pets! If a domme has a pet I will have an idea of how well she will treat me. So we should be able to search whether they have a pet, and what kind - cat, dog, amphibian, etc.

Now that I would totally go for. Of course, then guys might be intimidated by our zoo ... hmmm....

Padriag -> RE: Why not add "full head of hair" to search criteria? (4/9/2005 11:23:28 PM)

LOL... these are some interesting idea for some search options. Theoretically, depending on how open ended the code for the search engine is, and also how good the database management is, you could add as many search options as you want. The drawback is that every option added increases the amount of CPU time needed to process the search. Since your last search criteria are automatically repeated every time you visit the home page, that's increasing the demand on the web server this site is run off of. Sooner or later it'll overwhelm either the web server's CPU, or the ability of the software to manage the database. I think the search options could be improved, but they also need to be refined so they don't get too cumbersome.

Meanwhile I'll just hide my photo's from Jewel... [sm=rolleyes.gif]

Is there one which one can say minimal body hair? I dislike intensely a very hairy male body, ok I am shallow I too have 'things' that immediately I am turned off by

[sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif] [sm=lol.gif]ROFLMAO,
How about denying ability to look for perfection, when seeker isn't perfect.
Agree Chris on the pets thing... I chat with a guy who said he had 6cats, that's a dealbreaker since I don't even like 1, and feel it unfair to make him drop the kitties en route to meeting me. M

DesertRat -> RE: Why not add "full head of hair" to search criteria? (4/10/2005 5:17:51 AM)

I'm in favor of letting people use whatever criteria they choose in their search. My hair is thinning on top and if that's gonna be a turnoff, I would rather know that right away than find out at the airport. Actually, I'm with someone now, so this is not an issue.

No kidding..don't it suck to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person..lol. In the forums though, I haven't decided if more of the debating is caused by thinkers or the non-thinkers though..kind of a double edged blade <perk>.

Nodz to Padriag, but we are kidding here...aren't we, or are we...hmm...lmao?
.
As long as we're fantasizing, let's add some criteria for a sex drive scale....never-sometimes-occasionally-usually-always-constantly-& WOW (if it isn't sore, we aren't done).....lol.

Actually no, not kidding at all. Here's the thing. Every new search option you add means you have to add a new search string, these things pile up because it means the search engine has to go through the entire database with each additional search string you add every search you make. Add 100 new fields an things can slow down a bit. Now add say... 2,000 new members. If each search string takes up just 1 kb of info, thats 200,000kb of information or 200Mb that would have to be processed each an every time you do a search. Now multiply that by the number of members visiting the site and doing searches at the same time... say 10 members to be very conservative... you're up to 2 GB of info... that'll strain most PCs and start taxing a good dedicated web server.

Think 100 fields isn't likely to happen... suppose people want to search by interest? I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet, that could easily add enough to bring the current number of search strings up to 100 the search engine up to 100. Especially if we standardize the interest list for profiles an make it the same for everyone (why they didn't do this already I don't really understand).

There are some cheats you can do to cut this down... one is to split the database up so that some popular setting allows the search engine to only sort through a smaller portion of the database. There's also some other database management techniques for setting up the database itself that can help cut down on the processing power needed an keep it running more efficiently. Even if I'm not able to handle the coding, I could probably work with another programmer an explain the logic, which is the hard part anyway, so that they could set up the code.

lol, no Padriag I knew you were correct about the CPU time...I meant we were kidding about having a zillion search options.

Well MENSA only requires a 132 on a Wechsler Scales IQ test. My standards are a wee bit higher!

Ha... didn't think to look on my web site did you! There's a about 14 of me in the personal section. Someone else commented my web site makes my profile seem short, I cannot dispute that claim. As for my feet... I have two of them, we're very attached. [;)] Not a switch at all, quite sure about that... been quite the lil dom since... well... since I was a lil domling.

Youtalkingtome -> RE: Why not add "full head of hair" to search criteria? (4/10/2005 7:55:14 AM)

I think this is a very bad idea!!!
From spending years looking for someone on the internet personals vanilla and BDSM.
People are to shallow and to picky. One should be picky about important things for a long term relationship. But these minor shallow things shouldn't matter for a long term relatioinship. If you want a short term meaning less fling by all means be as shallow as you want.It is hard enough to find a real person that will meet real time without looking for perfection. When I was looking in the vanilla personals most short women,5' tall want a man 6' tall.Their is not a 6' tall man for every woman on the planet. There are many more shallow things that I could talk about but I will try to keep it as short as I can.
Only about 10% of the profiles that have pictures are real on just about any personals site. I found that most of the woman that were that shallow were in a relationship and were only passing time untill they found the perfect one for them.So that would make most of them cheaters.I am not saying that anyone in the forum is cheating.I am talking about what I have found in the past.I have gathered enough info about internet dating to write a book over the years.I am not a writer but I should be.
The reason I have spent so much time online in the personals is that I work odd hours and live in a state with a small population so it is very hard to find someone. And I am not interested in hanging out in bars.I have found 2 part time BDSM clubs in the whole state. They have one night a month for BDSM.And one has had problems in the past with some illegal activities. Both are a few hours away from me.I found one munch once a month a few hours away from me.So now you have a better idea why I am on here.I have never roll played online.
I have preferences but I am not shallow. My preferences can be bent or done away with.Just depends on the person.I have emailed over the years about 1000-1500 women and heard back from maybe 100 that were real and not trying to get me to a pay site or spam me.Out of that 100 I have met 7 I think.Out of that 7 I had one relationship. And she was to young so it didn't work out.
So far collarme has been the best site I have been on in 4 years..........................
Don't change a thing!!!!!!
