Sure, there are plenty of folks out there who are nice enough, but that doesn't make them better company than my cats.

I think that is harsh.
You're either meeting among the most unattractive/boring women in the world or your cats should be in the Guinness Books?? M

Actually, HP is just a big fan of pussy ;)

Ohhhhh, good to know; I'm just trying to coax him into being a bigger fan of the ones attached to curvaceous babes or not so curvacous ones (to each his own). M

heh. Well, BlkFallFullfig and LadyA are both definitely far more fascinating than even my Guinness Book quality cats. No skirt hiking needed, though it is much appreciated. Woof woof! *panting like a dog in heat*

I was being more than a bit facetious, and I thought that was obvious ... but really, the point is that they don't care about your intellect - what they do care about is that they are cared for in the manner that they want.

Yeah it was obvious, such as HP's reply to you was obviously facetious :)

I always say to find what you are looking for it is often best to STOP looking. What you're looking for is often right under your nose.

I stopped looking. Instead, I've spent most of my time just bettering myself instead.

...some exposure in the form of socializing/dating may be in order, hence the need to be able to hang out and relax in the company of others. M

I'm not suggesting people stop socialising. What I argue is that the reason for doing the socialising shouldn't be for the purpose of finding someone. Getting out and about is just that. When I've just looked after my own affairs, got out and done things I enjoyed doing, with people I liked being around, invariably I turn around to find more than one person standing right there volunteering to be with me.

I agree with you with minor exceptions:
If what you like to do is fix things at home or read a book/day at home, there's little chance you're going to run into people you might connect with; but if you go out to borders bookstore to read about fixing things/buy books you love to read, than you may very well run into people while doing what you like.
I agree the secret is to go out about your fun and be open to possibilities. M

THe op paints a very depressing picture. VERY depressing. Best way for male sub to go is turn the process on its head. Look for love and then kink, not the other way around. Ashcan any lifestyle leanings or anything too out there, find an aggressive female in the vanilla world that you like, win her heart, and over time introduce her to dom/sub elements that you think she might be interested in. She may not be a true "domme" but these days many ladies are ggg (good, giving and game) and are willing to indulge their partners. In relationships as with may other things, people never find precisely what they want, the key is to find a compromise that you can be happy with. This may not work for everyone, but will work for many and most importantly, worked for me.
