I don't like shoes - I don't like clothes in general.  I prefer barefoot and as naked as the temperature will allow.

I truly wish I wasn't so afflicted with this sickness of shoe dependance. Perhaps I should start a chapter of SA (Shoes Anonymous).

Hello, My name is Jo D. and I'm addicted to shoes.

But anyway, what I really wanted to post about was the idea of name changing, specifically the husband taking the wife's surname at marriage. I don't know what the laws are like in the US about this, but here in the UK it is only tradition for a woman to take the man's name, not law. So there is nothing stopping such an action at all. In fact, we actually considered me taking my wife's name, and the only thing that stopped us was the fact that i'd already changed my name legally a couple of years prior (I was adopted, and then I found my real father: I took his name), and the sheer bloody hassle of doing it all over again was too much to bear.

I'm sure one of our more knowledgeable members may know the answer to this. Although I don't know why it couldn't be simply just recognized legally as a woman's is when she's married. There's no formal procedure that is done aside from the wedding certificate and having her Driver's license changed to reflect her taking on the new name. I don't know why the male wife couldn't do so as well or even have both of them hyphenate their combined names with Her's coming first.

Professionally he could still use his surname if he wished to. Professional women do this all the time as well rather than change everything to reflect the married surname. One of my friends is a Physician. Professionally she still goes by Dr. Smith and for everything else she goes by Dr. Jones-Smith.

I keep trying, but they quit talking to me.  *shrugs* I'll just keep looking.

*grins* I haven't given up yet.  I'm just getting tired of (well ... mostly bored with) digging through to find those diamonds ... too bad someone had to go and hide them from me.

Well Ms Karen just remember, a million years ago that diamond was a little ole lump of coal. A carbon based little rock. Sometimes you have to take a lump of coal, add a whole lot of pressure and voila....a diamond. Sure it takes a little work but you know what they say...

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. LOL Hang in there.

Patience is a....vulture.

I don't have a million years though

Honestly, my biggest problem is that I don't have anyone to cuddle with and I miss it horribly.  I'm very touchy-feely in my affections, and I can't cuddle with Holly or rob (Holly has fibromyalgia so cuddling usually ends with me getting kicked or smacked when she has to move - can't stay still for very long; rob just overheats so fast, and in this heat, it's even worse).  I'd really like to find someone by my birthday, but it's not looking good at this point - although I do have 3 months left, so maybe *crosses fingers*

None of us has a million years. Which means increased pressure must be used to fall within the time limitations.

Sigh....I miss cuddling too. I miss sleeping next to a warm body and having him curled around Me instinctively in the middle of the night.

It's the wine talking. I will deny posting that if ever reminded in future and blame it on my touchy feely twin that I keep locked in the attic. Because it's been firmly established I'm an EBG. Evil, I say.

I can't even remember the last time I had something harder than Mt Dew ... although some days, that's all it takes *giggles*

It's not too often for me either but it's been a rough week and it was nice to just relax and enjoy a wonderful dinner, a great wine and delightful company.

This is a very long thread!
With the exception of managing the bills my husband does all of the housework.  I will sometimes work in the garden because I enjoy it.  He has a full time job.  We have been married two years next month and together about three.  He kept his "maiden" name.  We are not "out" concerning our lifestyle.  I keep him under my thumb and this has limited his career options and social life.
This relationship has not been an easy one for either of us.  He really has not had any outside life.  For my part constantly micro managing him has been wearing.  Most of the time I wouldn't change it though.

Way too many pages and posts to scroll back on, but in answer to the OP:  I'd adore a male wife.  Wouldn't even consider getting married unless it was along those lines of a relationship!

Now taking applications.  (teasing...sorta).

I would recommend reading "I  Want A Wife." by Judy Brady. It first appeared in the Spring 1972 issue of Ms. magazine, and has been reprinted there, most recently in 1990.  I had to read it as part of My English course in college. The topic was Satire, but when I read it I thought "To hell with satire, that's exactly what I want."  I don't think there is a Domme who wants a male wife who, after reading this work, wouldn't nominate Brady for the Nobel Prize.

I DEFINITELY want a male wife.

Here's a link to it.  I'm sorry the font isn't the best.  BUT I'm sure that ANY Domme  who truly wants a male wife and takes the time to read it will thank ME for it later and add it to their favourites.

Now that is a great article! I didn't take it as satire at all either. That is exactly it (minus the children part). I've already done that and I'm not planning on doing it again. I've already done the precautions and had the surgery to be sure that it won't.

Thanks for the great link!

I haven't had a chance to read the article yet, but I promise I'll get to it

In the meantime, we've had all kinds of house issues, my left arm has something wrong with it (pinched nerve, I think) and I've been talking to a guy that vanished for awhile but is back now and wants to come visit - he really likes the sound of being a male wife

That was a great article! Thanks so much for the link. I changed it around, removing things related to children, as mine are grown up and gone. I also removed the birth control line, as I am free from that concern.
